Happy Valentine's Day! (A little bit early.)

Hello, everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful February so far and I hope that those of you living up north are staying warm. It's been chilly enough down here in Florida... If I lived in the snow, I'd grab a warm beverage and snuggle up close to the heater with a pile of good books until April!

Life Stuff:

Well, I've just about gotten things back to normal from the holidays. Hubbins has been attending Airman Leadership School this month. While the classes have been pretty rigorous, he's been a trooper and I couldn't be prouder of him. :)

Since, it was one of my resolutions this year, I've been catching up on my reading with the spare time, as well as working my way through the bible study I've been participating in with my Ladies Bible Study: "The Patriarchs" by Beth Moore.

How about you? How are your resolutions holding up?

Writing Stuff:

Well, I'm still plugging away at the novella, I'm sorry to say. This thing is taking soooo much longer than I had planned. At the moment, I'm working through it with a book called "Revision and Self-editing for Publication: Techniques for Transforming Your First Draft Into a Novel That Sells" by James Scott Bell. I highly recommend it for authors, especially when you've finished a book and feel lost about what to do with it now. :)

How about you? Writers, do you have a favorite writing book?

Reading Stuff:

Last month, I was able to read:

Currently, I am reading:

Thank you for your prayers, sweet friends. If you have a request, just leave a comment or use the contact form and I will add it to the list.

I'm currently reading "Writing the Breakout Novel" by Donald Maase. I'm basically dissecting it a little at a time.
Please add my dad to your prayer list. He recently had surgery for prostate cancer. He has now been diagnosed with lung cancer, and his surgery is scheduled for Feb 17 when they will remove a cancerous mass. I am praying for healing and most importantly his salvation. Thank you so much. This is all still so overwhelming.

I'll add him to the list, Kelly... both for his healing and his salvation. Praying for you as well as you are going through this with him.

Thanks for the prayers. :) My dad's surgery was successful. I am still waiting on news on pathology. He came home today. Please keep him in your prayers. And thank you again. I treasure those prayers. :)

Hi Anna! It does feel good to get back into the routine after the holidays. I HOPE to get back into my writing rhythm soon.

I'm reading "Writing with Emotion, Tension, and Conflict" by Cheryl St. John....excellent. Thanks for the recommendation of James Scott Bell's book. I'll check it out when I finish my WIP.

BTW: Exciting about your writing news. I review on Amazon, Goodreads, and on my blog....but the form wouldn't let me choose all of those. I'd love to do a review for you! Just a heads up, I'm a SLOW reader, however.

Happy February to you!

Hi Cutie,
I always enjoy reading your monthly newsletters. It was great seeing you. :) Please add Dad to your prayer list as he tries to lose the weight needed to get off the majority of the meds he's on since his stroke for diabetes, high bp & high cholesterol. Thank you! Ily & miss you. God bless! Momma

Anna, my brother in NY that I requested prayer for has gotten worse now and is in a VA Nursing Home on Hospice. It is so hard not being able to go to him. Please pray for his awful pain to go away.
GOD bless you, Maxie

I need prayer for my finances. My husband's truck broke down yesterday. We think it's the transmission. A new one would cost $1400 or more. We are a single income family so an expense of this amount would be tough for us to handle. Please pray that it's a simple fix, or if it's the worst case scenario, that God will provide for us. Thank you.
