Life Stuff:

Happy October! I hope you are all doing well this month!

It has cooled down to the 60's here in sunny FL. Because of the cooler weather, Hubbins and I have spent more time at the beach, walking during the evenings. I absolutely love the scenery here, so I wanted to share a few pics of our walks together. Hope y'all don't mind. :)

How was your September?

Writing Stuff:

I haven't had a bunch of spare time over the last month, but I am still working on the revision request I got back from the Blurb 2 Book pitch. Also, I'm editing a book for a friend, so my writing plate is quite full this month. :)

Reading Stuff:

Here is the list of the books that I've this month. What are you reading?

And I am currently reading:

Prayer Request Stuff:

Here are the prayer requests that were sent in last month:

Caryl K. - Prayers for soreness in her knee.

Becky I. - Please pray for my family.

Debi S. - Please pray for my husband and my oldest son that they will come to Christ. Also Pray for my youngest who is struggling in school due to special needs.

Alaina N. - Prayers as she starts her new job in a new city.

Bonnie R. - I would appreciate prayers for healing, please!!

Anna H. - Prayers that I will be able to find a job/way to contribute to the family income that won't take too much time away from my writing. Prayers for focus and self-discipline.

Last month's requests:

Wendy N. - Prayers for her granddaughter, Rachel, who is having bariatric surgery on September 8th and would appreciate prayers for success on the surgery and her life afterwards.

Deana D. - Pray for my husband. He has been having problems with blood pressure and is going in for a stress test.

Sonja N. - Prayers for my dad. He's not doing very well.

Thanks so much for your prayers, friends. We all need prayer sometimes and I know that those of us who ask for it are very thankful! :)

Bible Stuff:

I've decided to put a new section in the newsletter this month. I don't know about you, but sometimes I need some accountability when it comes to reading my Bible. Sometimes, I get so scatterbrained that I'll be in bed to go to sleep for the night and realize that I forgot to have a daily quiet time. So, I'll be posting here what I've been reading. :)

Last week, I made an exciting discovery. The Bible app that I have on my smartphone will read the Bible to you! This is terribly exciting to me, because while I don't always have time to sit down and read, I can pull up the app and listen to a chapter or two while I'm doing housework or writing up a blog post. :)

Since I made that discovery, I've listened to Philippians and now I'm 3 chapters into 1st Timothy. What are you reading/listening to this month? :)

Last Month's Winners:

Hearts Undone by Allyson Carter - Joan Arning*

To Dance With Dolphins by Bonnie Leon - Caryl Kane*

Unconditional by Tanya Eavenson - Kathryn Voss*

Where Treasure Hides by Johnnie Alexander - Loraine N.

All winners have a month to reply to my emails or I will draw a new winner. * = winner has claimed her prize. Books will be mailed within the month. Be sure to check back soon for this month's giveaways and reviews. God bless!

Started a church Bible study on 1,2,3 John (Kelly Minter) What Love is. I enjoy doing this kind of study as it keeps me in the Word. Also I try to read thru the Bible each year. THis year I am using The One Year Bible. Thank you for sharing your thoughts thru your newsletter.

I love the new section related to the Bible -- so what did you learn in your reading this week? I'm reading James, and I learned about God's grace -- most specifically how I have to give grace instead of judging others!

I'm currently reading SPY OF RICHMOND, the last book in Jocelyn Green's fantastic Heroines Behind the Lines series about the Civil War.I was really happy to receive it last week from my son as a birthday gift. My kids know I love to read.

Isn't it great to find a new way to read/study/listen to the Bible? What I have been doing for quite some time is using The MacArthur Topical Bible. It lists Bible verses under major topics. Right now I am reading on the topic of God's Power. As I read the verses, I meditate on them and also go to my study Bible to go deeper into the study of many of the verses. This method of reading and study has been a joy and I've learned so much.

Anna your photos are awesome! I really love the colors in the fifth one!
It is cooling off here in Arizona too, and we are just starting to experience the fall colors here in Prescott.

I am currently doing a study with my women's group at church. It is a year long. We are currently reading For Women Only by Shaunti Feldhahn.

Please pray for me in my new job. I begin this week and am trying not to be nervous.

I've been attending a short writers' retreat in the Smoky Mountains. Don't you just love the colors of the fall? Too beautiful. I drive through the mountains singing "How Great Thou Art!"

I'm about to start a study of Culture of Honor by Danny Silk. It should be interesting.

I just finished reading a historical fiction book called Echoes of Titanic by Mindy Starns Clark. It was an absolutely amazing, spell-binding story with lots of suspense & twists. I would highly recommend it!
