Chapter 346 Untitled Draft 9
Chapter 346 Untitled Draft 9
Seeing this, the crowd immediately seized the fleeting opportunity and launched another thunderous attack without hesitation. Their battle cries were like crashing waves, deafening and resounding through the sky, intertwining with the stone beast's thunderous roar, like a stirring battle symphony that echoed for a long time in the ruins.
Under the combined and relentless onslaught of everyone, the stone beasts gradually became unable to withstand the onslaught and began to retreat. Their numbers also dwindled over time, and the once densely packed group of stone beasts was now sparse and scattered.
Just as everyone's attacks were about to reach the stone beast, a powerful shockwave suddenly erupted from its body. This force, like a raging storm, deflected all of their attacks back. Several people who reacted a little slower were struck by this force, staggering and flying backward like kites with broken strings.
However, the group did not back down. They quickly adjusted their strategy and reorganized an even more aggressive offensive. One of them, quick-witted, shouted, "Everyone, spread out and attack! Disrupt its rhythm!"
Upon hearing this, everyone immediately understood and scattered like birds, launching attacks on the stone beast from different directions. This sudden turn of events caught the stone beast off guard, its attention instantly diverted, leaving it momentarily overwhelmed.
Just as the stone beast panicked and lost its footing, the captain, who had been calmly observing its weaknesses, seized the opportunity. A sharp glint flashed in his eyes, and without hesitation, he leaped into the air, charging towards the stone beast's vitals like an arrow released from a bow. He leaped up, the blade in his hand gleaming with a cold light, aiming straight for the stone beast's eye. The stone beast sensed the approaching danger and tried to dodge, but it was too late. The blade pierced its eye with pinpoint accuracy, and the stone beast let out a shrill roar, its body trembling violently. Seeing this, the others seized the opportunity and launched a barrage of attacks on the stone beast like a storm. Finally, under the combined assault of the group, the stone beast collapsed to the ground, turning into a pile of rubble. The crowd cheered; this arduous battle had finally seen the dawn of victory.
However, just as everyone was overjoyed, believing victory was in sight and preparing to press their advantage and delve deeper into the ruins to search for the secret treasure, they were surprised to discover that the treasure was not as easily obtained as they had imagined. What awaited them ahead were a series of unknown and dangerous traps and puzzles; a slight misstep could plunge them into an abyss of no return.
The crew stared in disbelief at the scene before them, their initial cheers instantly replaced by astonishment, leaving them momentarily speechless. In this eerie atmosphere, an old man dressed in strange attire appeared silently, like a phantom. His figure flickered in and out of sight, seemingly blending into the ruins. His eyes were deep and sharp, like cold stars in the night sky, sending chills down their spines, as if they could see through everything.
The old man spoke slowly, his voice low and mysterious: "Do you think that defeating a few stone beasts is enough to win?"
"The trial of this ruin has only just begun." The group became alert. The captain stepped forward and asked, "Who are you? Why are you here?" The old man smiled slightly: "I am the guardian of this ruin. If you wish to obtain the treasure, you must pass my test." With that, he waved his hands, and the surrounding space instantly distorted, runes appearing to form a massive maze. "Within this maze, there are paths leading to the treasure's location, but also deadly traps."
