Chapter 39 Dirty Water, Disguise, and Blending

The next morning, before dawn, Rosen was awakened by violent knocks on the door.

"Who's outside?" Diana next to him also opened her eyes, covered her body with the quilt and looked at Rosen.

"I don't know." Rosen leaned over and kissed her lightly, then smiled sweetly and said, "I'll go check it out first. You should get dressed quickly. I suddenly have a bad feeling."

As he spoke, Rosen quickly put on his clothes and walked out.

"Mr. Lieutenant, is there something urgent that has you knocking on the door so early in the morning?" Rosen opened the door halfway and looked at the lieutenant he had dealt with yesterday standing at the door with a serious expression. He immediately felt that something was wrong.

Especially when he saw the soldiers next to him armed with live ammunition, his nerves immediately tensed up. His right hand, hidden at the door, took out the Mauser pistol he brought from the previous world from the backpack space.

"Mr. Rosen, we just received an order saying that someone stole confidential documents and fabricated a false identity of a battlefield inspector in an attempt to spread rumors and disrupt the war situation at the front line. And you..." The lieutenant looked at Rosen in the door and said, "You are the suspect, so we must take you away."

"Who gave the order?" Rosen frowned.

"I heard it came from Sir Patrick Morgan." The lieutenant was obviously not an ordinary person and was well-informed. He looked at Rosen and said, "If you don't have any more questions, then come with us. It's still a long way from here to London. We have to set off quickly."

"What if I don't want to go with you?" Rosen looked at him and asked, "Do I have to use force?"

"Of course it is according to the order." The second lieutenant nodded, and then said: "But if we can't catch you, there is nothing we can do."

As he spoke, he winked at Rosen, but never gave the order to arrest anyone.

The soldiers nearby also had no intention of breaking in. After all, they had seen Rosen and Diana's mighty and heroic figures on the battlefield yesterday.

Those were fierce men who broke through the front line with just two of them and dared to block even heavy machine guns. Now they wanted to confront them head-on with rifles, which was just courting death.

Anyone with a clear mind would not have the intention of really arresting anyone, so the situation at the door seemed tense, but the atmosphere was good.

"Rosen, what's wrong?" Diana, dressed in her clothes, walked over and asked with concern, her right hand on the sword.

"Nothing, just a little trouble." Rosen opened the door and said to the lieutenant, "We are leaving. Since we have fought side by side before, we will not take the initiative to attack you. But if you insist on stopping us, don't blame us for being rude."

"Of course." The lieutenant spread his hands, looking harmless.

The other soldiers also made way.

Rosen and Diana made their way down the stairs through the crowd.

A moment later, they heard intense gunfire coming from upstairs.

"What are they doing?" Diana asked puzzled.

"We are creating a scene where they tried their best to stop us but were unable to stop us from escaping, so that we can get forgiveness from our superiors," Rosen said.

"Really cunning." Diana frowned.

"At least we have one less problem." Rosen pulled her hand and said, "Let's go buy two horses and go to the banquet as soon as possible."

Rosen and Diana rode their horses through the lush pine and cypress forest, but what they talked about was not love and romance, but how to enter the castle and kill Ludendorff.

At first, Rosen thought about disguising himself and sneaking in, just like Steve in the original plot.

But he soon realized that this was simply unrealistic. After all, he looked too un-German. Even if he wore a German military uniform, it would soon be recognized as fake.

Especially when Rosen stood in the woods and looked at the people coming in and out of the castle in the distance, he became more and more certain that it would not be easy to sneak in.

"Or let's just use force and charge in directly. As long as we kill all the enemies, our infiltration will be a success no matter how big a commotion we make, uh..."

When he turned around, Rosen realized that Diana, who was supposed to be by his side, was missing.

Just when he was about to go find her, he saw her coming over with a woman dressed as a noblewoman who was obviously knocked unconscious.

The woman was wearing a gorgeous blue dress and had gorgeous gestures. It was obvious that she was of high status. But now that she was unconscious, she looked particularly embarrassed when being held in Diana's hand.

"Do you want to..." Rosen pointed at the woman's clothes and then at Diana's body.

"How is it?" Diana looked at him with a smile and raised her eyebrows.

"Good idea." Rosen nodded.

It would certainly be satisfying to just rush in and kill everyone, but it would easily cause the entire plot to collapse, and it would then be difficult to resolve, so this could only be the last resort.

Now that Diana had a solution, Rosen certainly had no reason to refuse.

"Rosen, help me tidy up the back of my skirt." Diana said to Rosen.

Rosen did not refuse, nor did he feel shy. After all, after the night of pleasure they had, their relationship had undergone a qualitative change, and naturally they would not be as shy as between strangers.

"Does it look good?" Diana lifted the hem of her skirt and turned around in front of Rosen.

"You are so beautiful and charming." Rosen held her slender waist, lowered his head and kissed her, saying, "Compared to you, other women are nothing but chickens and dogs, not worth mentioning."

"Thank you." Diana smiled sweetly and happily, and said, "I really like your compliment."

After actively kissing Rosen again, he said, "I'll have to excuse you by disguising yourself as my follower and bringing my weapons in."

"No problem." Rosen made a gesture of invitation and said, "I am happy to serve the future Queen."

"Haha..." Diana laughed happily.

If a man wants to enter the castle, an invitation and identity check are essential.

But it was relatively easier for women to get in, especially Diana, who was dressed gorgeously, had a dignified manner, and was extremely beautiful. The guard in front of the castle just asked a casual question and chose to let her in.

Even Rosen, who was carrying a large box and lowering his head as an attendant, did not encounter any difficulties.

"Since it's an indoor banquet, why put so many chairs outside?" Rosen glanced at the neatly arranged chairs on the open space below and whispered to Diana, "This is very strange. I think it's necessary to investigate."

"Then I'll go to the banquet hall," Diana said.

"Even if you really meet Ludendorff or some other noble or high-ranking official, don't be impulsive." Rosen held her hand and said, "No matter what you want to do, try to wait until we meet up before taking action, okay?"

Diana nodded, and then walked towards the banquet hall in an elegant manner.

Rosen moved towards the top floor of the castle.
