Chapter 220 A new beginning

Chapter 220 A new beginning

"By the way, you don't live alone, do you?" Leon looked around the small house. Although it was simple, it was well-organized and full of life.

He asked out of curiosity because he had vaguely heard Asha and others talking while he was unconscious, mentioning that she had an older brother.

“I have an older brother, but he went fishing and won’t be back until tonight,” Asha explained softly, her eyes revealing her longing and dependence on her brother.

Leon nodded. It was just past noon, and sunlight was streaming in through the window, illuminating the entire small house.

He guessed that Asha's brother must have gone out in the morning, while Asha was left at home to take care of him, who was in a coma.

"Do you usually stay at home?" Leon continued, trying to learn more about Asha's life.

“No, I’ll go to the beach to pick up some food, but…” At this point, Asha’s voice trailed off, and she seemed hesitant, not continuing.

Leon could roughly guess what she was going to say, and felt a pang of guilt. He guessed it was because she hadn't had time to go beachcombing lately, all because she was taking care of him.

Leon sat there, filled with gratitude, but also with a sense of helplessness.

He knew he might have caused trouble for the brother and sister, and he wanted to do something to repay their kindness, but he seemed powerless at the moment.

He was in this unfamiliar land, unfamiliar with the environment, and had nothing of value to offer in return.

"Can I go to the beach with you?" Leon suddenly suggested, his voice tinged with anticipation.

He hoped that this would at least alleviate Asha's burden to some extent.

Asha hadn't expected Leon to make such a request. She looked at him with some concern and said, "Your health..." She didn't finish her sentence, but her eyes were full of concern.

"Don't worry, I'm all better now, and there's basically no problem."

As Leon spoke, he stood up, took a few steps, and demonstrated his physical condition. Although his movements were still somewhat slow, he was no longer as weak as before.

Seeing Leon's movements, Asha felt that he had indeed recovered well, so she readily agreed.

She picked up a bucket and some beachcombing tools and began preparing to head to the beach. Her movements were practiced and swift, clearly something she did often.

She was excited because these days her brother had asked her to stay home to take care of Leon, but she longed to go out and help out, to ease her brother's burden.

After all, the things she collected from the beach every day were enough for the two of them to eat.

Pushing open the door, Leon took a deep breath of fresh air, a long-lost feeling of freedom.

The air is filled with a faint scent of sea salt, a unique characteristic of the seaside that immediately conveys the vastness and depth of the ocean.

He closed his eyes, letting the fresh air fill his chest, as if the fatigue and unease of the past few days had been carried away by the sea breeze.

Leon opened his eyes and carefully looked around at his surroundings.

This was just an ordinary little fishing village, with simple and unpretentious houses all around, unlike the luxurious buildings and bustling streets of the city of Patton that he was once familiar with.

Most of the houses here are built with wood and thatch, simple yet full of life.

Leon insisted on taking the tools from Asha's hands, even though she was very reluctant, thinking that he had just woken up and shouldn't be tired so soon.

However, Asha was just a simple girl after all, and in the end she couldn't resist Leon's insistence.

He smiled as he took the tools, feeling a long-lost sense of comfort.

Along the way, Leon asked Asha many questions, including place names, residents' lifestyles, and daily life in the fishing village.

Asha was initially a little shy, but she quickly relaxed and excitedly answered his questions, even starting to teach him about beachcombing techniques and experiences.

As Leon felt the sea breeze blowing from the roadside and listened to Asha's cheerful narration, he couldn't help but feel much more relaxed.

He found himself starting to like the place and the simple, pure way of life.

The sea breeze gently caressed his face, bringing a touch of coolness and also an anticipation for a new life.

Although Leon knew he wouldn't stay in this small fishing village for long, he decided to stay there temporarily until he had a full understanding of the place and fully recovered.

He needs time to adapt to this new environment, at least to understand the surrounding situation, before he can make a simple plan for the future.

The most important thing right now is to make some money.

He pondered how he could easily earn some income by the sea. Clearly, catching seafood and selling it in the nearby town seemed like a good option. The marine resources here were abundant, and the demand for seafood should be considerable.

Although Leon was not skilled at fishing and had no experience in the field, he was not worried about it.

After all, he possessed a special ability—magic. He believed that even in this unfamiliar environment, his magic would come in handy.

Leon followed Asha as they strolled through the fishing village, his senses keenly searching for any possible magical fluctuations, but to his surprise, there was no magical aura present.

He pondered to himself that perhaps this fishing village was truly just a place where ordinary people lived, far removed from the conflicts and disturbances of those magicians.

Such places are like countless quiet corners of the world, ordinary yet real.

Leon thought this made perfect sense. After all, magic wasn't something everyone could easily access.

The residents here lead simple and unpretentious lives, far removed from the world of magic.

Leon and the girl chatted and laughed as they walked, and soon they reached the beach.

The sea breeze gently brushed their faces, bringing a slightly salty taste.

He stood on the beach, gazing at the shimmering sea, and couldn't help but gasp in amazement. He was awestruck by the vastness and beauty of the ocean; this was the first time he had ever been so close to the sea.

He took a deep breath, feeling the embrace of the sea breeze, and a new sense of anticipation welled up in his heart.

Regardless of the past or what he has experienced, he now needs to start his life in this new environment.
