Chapter 1154: The Great Battle of Half Moon Gorge
"I sincerely apologize for interrupting your family reunion time. Ah! The conversation between you brothers just now was truly moving. The Dragon King’s brotherly love for his younger brother is indeed touching." Nero emerged from the crowd and flew to Fafnir’s side, wiping the tears from the corners of his eyes in a feigned expression of being deeply moved, teasingly said."Fafnir, is this your plan?" Zhuo Geng didn’t even glance at Nero, staring at his brother and questioning, "Joining forces with outsiders to ambush your own kin?"
"Brother, what’s the point of saying this now? If not for these outsiders you mentioned, you never intended to leave me a way out today either, did you?" With his face completely torn, Fafnir responded with his head held high, "Regardless of past grudges with the Dragon Realm, all I want now is to survive with my people."
"Hmph, Uncle, stop painting yourself in such a grand light. I’ve never said your people wouldn’t have a way out. In the end, you’re just dragging your subordinates to the grave with you." Sarafam snorted coldly, stepping forward to mock.
"Well said! Very well said!" Without giving Fafnir a chance to speak, Nero interrupted, applauding and saying, "Criticizing others, what about yourself? Haha, the Dragon King mentioned upon entering this Half Moon Gorge, if Fafnir voluntarily surrendered, he’d offer a fair trial opportunity to his subordinates. You’re so kind-hearted and brotherly. I, Bloodshard, cannot embarrass our ally Mr. Fafnir too much. Therefore, we also give you a chance. If the Dragon King willingly surrenders, we’ll unlock the space lock and let your subordinates leave. How’s that? We’re much more generous than you."
"Nero, do you think you’ve got us in the bag?" Seeing the other side trying to incite restlessness, Sarafam immediately yelled to stop.
"Kid, even if your uncle is wrong in a thousand ways, he did say one thing right: it’s not your place to speak on this occasion." Nero’s eyes never left the Dragon King, his mouth slightly curled in disdain.
"Dream on if you think I’ll surrender! As for my subordinates...!" Dragon King Zhuo Geng spoke, glancing around solemnly, "This predicament is due to my misjudgment. If I survive and leave the valley, I’m willing to resign as Clan Leader and let the elders decide my punishment. But now, facing a formidable enemy, I just want to ask, my kin, are you still willing to fight alongside me?"
"Willing to live and die with His Majesty the Dragon King!"
"Willing to live and die with His Majesty the Dragon King!"
Hearing the high-pitched dragon roars echoing from the sky, Nero shrugged helplessly, "So you’re still trying to drag...".
Boom! Before Nero could finish, a massive Dragon Breath surged forth from the opposite side. With words now pointless, Sarafam preemptively launched an attack. Simultaneously, dragons in the sky unleashed torrents of Dragon Breath toward the gorge. Instantly, flames, icicles, thunderbolts, boulders, hurricanes, and other elemental dragon breaths converged in the gorge, exploding with world-shattering force, shattering the cliff walls, the earth quaking, as dragons and figures soared through the rising smoke to the skies above. Bloodshard, alongside the dragon-shaped Dark Race, launched a counterattack against the Dragon Race.
A chaotic battle erupted, with the Dragon Race initiating an attack first. Upon receiving a signal from his father, Sarafam began directing the Dragon Race to break through outward. The previously breached space lock had long been undone. All that was left was to break through Bloodshard’s encirclement. If even one could break free and warn the Dragon Realm, it wouldn’t be long before the Dragon Realm army swept this place flat.
Sarafam now hopes the elders in the Dragon Realm quickly spot the anomalies and send reinforcements swiftly.
Meanwhile, as the organizers of the ambush, Bloodshard and the Dark Race were determined not to let their plans fall short. Experts from Bloodshard and the Dark Race poured from the spatial rift, swiftly soaring into the sky amidst torrents of Dragon Breath to engage the Dragon Race attempting to break free. In an instant, the sky above the gorge became a storm-tossed battlefield. Various dragons chased and bit in the skies, unleashing Dragon Breath upon each other, amid Bloodshard’s assaults and surprise attacks against the Dragon Race. The battle quickly reached a fever pitch, with occasional dragon wails as they plummeted from the sky, crashing heavily into the gorge, while dragon blood dyed the ravaged gorge a dark red.
The fiercest fighting centered around Bloodshard’s target, Dragon King Zhuo Geng. Fafnir, leading Nine-headed Ancient Dragons and Bloodshard’s elites, opposed Hydra and Ancient Dragons led by Rego, alongside Five Children of Origin focusing all their efforts on surrounding the Dragon King alone.
The previously superiority in numbers of the Dragon Race vanished at this moment. Despite Hydra, Zhuo Geng, and others fighting desperately to rescue the Dragon King, Fafnir’s side was under strict orders that failure was not an option. This battle was the Dark Race’s pledge of allegiance to Bloodshard. If they failed, Dragon Realm would not spare them, and Bloodshard would hold them accountable. Fafnir and the Dark Race elders showed no mercy, fighting tooth and nail against their once kin.
"Dragon King, the one blind to the situation is you, not your brother. You’re repeating mistakes! Not only are you destined to die here, but your subordinates will also perish because of your obstinacy and foolishness." Nero kept taunting, embedding despair among the besieged Dragon King.
"Kid, who’ll bury whom isn’t decided yet! If you want me dead, let’s see if you have the ability. Now, I’ll reclaim what rightfully belongs to my son." Unmoved by Nero’s words, Dragon King Zhuo Geng raised his hand, aimed an angry roar at Nero, who immediately felt as though his blood was boiling, understanding that the various Dragon and Saraf bloodlines he absorbed were responding to the Dragon King’s call, his face flushed unable to speak, he urgently calmed his internal energy to quell the bloodlines’ agitation.
With Nero unable to attack temporarily, the other four didn’t sit idle — amidst thunderous roars, a silhouette vanished in a flash of light, reappearing behind the Dragon King, drawing a long knife from their waist, slashing at the Dragon King’s neck.
Facing the attack, Zhuo Geng sidestepped to avoid the strike, reversing his grip as his elbow sharply protruded a Dragon Bone, the unexpected bone like a scimitar quickly piercing through as he swung his arm, stabbing the opponent’s throat at an astonishing angle.
