Chapter 270 - 269: Your South Has Gone Wild
"You said to wait for him to come back, you didn’t follow him?"
Ivan Keller realized he had slipped and didn’t know how to respond.
"Where did he go?"
Ivan knew he couldn’t say anything, the chief would definitely think he wasn’t discreet and couldn’t be trusted.
Seeing his silence, South Grant immediately changed his tune, "I’ll go find a few more handsome guys."
"..." Wow, is this shameless couple trying to mess with him?
One says not to know, the other says if he doesn’t know, he’s going to cheat.
"The chief told me to say I don’t know!" Ivan Keller spoke truthfully, neither revealing Nathan Foster’s whereabouts nor leaving South Grant unanswered.
Upon hearing this, South Grant knew Nathan Foster was still upset, so he asked Ivan Keller, "Is my uncle still angry?"
"I don’t know."
"Then just say what you know, where exactly did my uncle go?"
"Young Master South, the chief really won’t let me say."
"Then at least tell me how long he’s going to be gone. Let me know when he’s coming back, that’s not too much to ask. You’re not disclosing his whereabouts either."
Ivan Keller thought about it and realized South Grant had a point, so he said to South Grant, "Three days."
Hearing Ivan Keller say three days, South Grant finally understood what Nathan Foster was up to.
After being together for ten years in a past life, he naturally knew Nathan Foster’s whereabouts.
Whenever he went away for three days, it was mostly for military exercises. He’d return covered in dirt.
During military exercises, he’s usually completely off the grid, without any communication devices, out of touch with the outside world.
So Ivan Keller didn’t need to say what Nathan was up to; South Grant already guessed it.
Turns out he wasn’t intentionally ignoring his messages; he was just restricted by circumstances.
Oh, trying to play it cool with me? Nice try! But you’ll never get me on a string!
Out for these three days, hoping I’ll be worried and thinking of you constantly? Hmm, just wait and see.
"Alright, I got it." After saying that, South Grant hung up the phone.
When Nathan Foster returned from the military base, it was three days later. The first thing he did was ask Ivan Keller about South Grant’s situation these past few days.
When Ivan Keller answered Nathan Foster, he seemed a bit at a loss, stammering, unsure of how to say it.
Nathan Foster sat at his desk, flipping through the exercise report as he listened, ready for Ivan Keller to tell him about South Grant.
After waiting for a while with no reply from Ivan Keller, Nathan Foster slightly frowned and asked, looking up:
"What’s up with her? Did the Shaw Family give her trouble?"
"No, no, everything went smoothly. Young Master South used public opinion to place the Shaw Family in the spotlight; all the media are scrambling to report on this. The Shaw Family tried using connections to smooth things over, but no one dared respond."
Hearing this, Nathan Foster nodded in satisfaction.
Always worried she’d get the short end of the stick, now it proves that even when he’s not around, her abilities are still quite impressive.
"Then why are you hesitating? Is she upset these past few days?" Nathan Foster thought of the barrage of messages from South Grant he saw upon turning on his phone, assuming she must have been thinking about him these three days.
"Why don’t you see for yourself, Chief? I can’t tell if he’s in a good mood or not." Ivan Keller was too afraid to say. If he now told Nathan Foster that in the three days he was gone, South Grant was insanely happy and carefree, who knows how Nathan Foster would react?
