Chapter 256 Infiltrating Er City 1
Chapter 256 Infiltrating Er City 1
It is located 1 kilometer from the west gate of Ershi City.
Bai Luo watched as over 500 Japanese soldier markers appeared on the radar, less than 3 kilometers behind him, advancing in his direction.
Bai Luo immediately pulled the silly girl away from the main road.
Arriving at the foot of a dirt slope 100 meters away from the dirt road, Bai Luo climbed up the slope and looked at the road behind him.
As soon as he reached the top of the hill, he saw the lights of cars flashing on the dirt road in the distance. Bai Luo took out a telescope from his spatial storage and looked at the Japanese convoy behind him.
Upon seeing this, Bai Luo smiled.
An acquaintance.
It turned out that this was the same Japanese mechanized infantry battalion that had tried to trap them in the woods yesterday morning.
However, it seems that there are far fewer Japanese soldiers, and why did they choose to enter the city through the west gate of Ershi? That location should be the south gate, which is closer.
Bai Luo thought about it for a long time but still couldn't figure it out.
Inside the tank of the mechanical battalion, Kimura Taku was in a sorry state, his uniform riddled with holes and stained with blood in some places.
They were clearly seriously injured, and the supply trucks behind them were also carrying a large number of Japanese corpses and wounded soldiers.
The original supplies and equipment were carried by the warhorses of the rear cavalry battalion, and the Japanese cavalry had now been converted into infantry.
"Captain, we're almost at the West Gate. Shall we go straight into the city and head to the hospital?"
The lead tank driver, seeing that they were not far from the west gate of Er City, asked Kimura Taku behind him.
Kimura Taku, who had been dozing, opened his eyes and glanced at the scene outside through the observation port. Sure enough, they were almost back in Er City.
"Yes, we should go straight to the hospital. Otherwise, why would I take the detour through the west gate?"
After saying that, Kimura Taku looked down at his arm, which had been simply bandaged, and couldn't help but think of the terrifying bomb in the forest.
If it weren't for his squadron leader shielding him from most of the damage, he would probably be a corpse in the truck behind him by now.
Thinking of this, Kimura Taku couldn't help but feel a surge of anger. When had he ever suffered such a great loss? His three elite squadrons had been almost completely wiped out in that forest.
The entire forest was like a giant minefield.
Shortly after he personally led two squadrons of Imperial soldiers into the forest, explosions began to occur intermittently, resulting in heavy losses for them.
He was also injured, and in his anger, he ordered the forest to be burned down. After watching the entire forest turn to ashes and making sure no one had escaped, he led his troops back.
Bai Luo looked at the Japanese tanks approaching in the distance and the long line of Japanese cavalry behind them, then turned back to look at the West Gate, which was heavily guarded by the Japanese.
An idea popped into my head.
15 minute later.
"Kimura-kun, you are our most elite Class A mechanical squadron, how come you're in such a sorry state?"
On one side outside the west gate of Ershi, the Japanese battalion commander of the west gate came down from the city gate tower and looked at Kimura Taku, who was covered in wounds, and couldn't help but ask in surprise.
Kimura Taku looked down at his tattered military uniform and sighed helplessly.
"I've accidentally entered a minefield. I need to send my soldiers to get their wounds treated first. I have a cavalry battalion behind me, so remember to let them pass later."
"You can come over to my place tomorrow for a drink, and we can talk then."
"Okay, Kimura-kun, I'll come see you after I finish my shift tomorrow. It's been a long time since we had a proper drink together. Don't take this defeat to heart; the Empire is invincible."
After saying this, Sato Shujin waved his hand, signaling his men to remove the barricades at the city gate and let them pass.
Kimura Taku then led his tank corps into Er City and headed straight for Renxiang Hospital.
Looking at the corpses of Imperial soldiers on the tanks and cars, Sato Shujin couldn't help but wonder what kind of enemy Kimura Taku had encountered to suffer such heavy losses.
Tanks and trucks quickly entered the city, but Sato, an acquaintance, did not immediately order the city gates to be closed because Kimura Taku had just said that there was a cavalry battalion behind them.
Before long, Sato Shujin saw a scattered cavalry force heading towards the west gate.
They also understood why the cavalry was so slow, because their horses were carrying either wounded soldiers or supplies.
Most of the cavalry were on foot.
About 20 minutes later, just as Sato Shujin thought the cavalry battalion had all entered the city and was about to order the city gates to be closed.
Two more horses appeared in the distance, led slowly towards the city gate by an imperial soldier.
"Hurry up, you idiot."
Sato Shujin, looking at the slow-moving cavalrymen, impatiently urged them on, as he was waiting to go back to sleep.
"Hi."
Upon hearing the Japanese soldiers urging him from the city gate, Bai Luo quickly responded and quickened his pace, leading his two horses toward the city gate.
He thought to himself, "This is how I easily sneaked in."
"Nani? What is that?"
Sato Shujin suddenly noticed that on the horse the soldier was leading, on the back of another horse was a wounded Imperial soldier, who appeared to be unconscious and lying across the horse's back.
But on the back of the other horse was a large, dark mass.
Sato Shujin couldn't help but squint his small eyes to take a closer look.
"Is that a bear?" Sato Shujin muttered to himself.
Seeing that Bai Luo was almost at the city gate, he immediately shouted.
"Wait a minute."
Upon hearing this, Bai Luo thought to himself, "Oh no!" but showed no panic on his face. He pretended not to know that someone was calling him and continued walking towards the city gate with his horse.
But then one of the Japanese soldiers guarding the gate grabbed Bai Luo's sleeve.
At the same time, he pointed towards the Japanese major on one side of the city gate.
"Captain Sato is calling you, wait a moment."
As the Japanese soldier spoke, he stared at the silly bear on horseback and poked its hide with his hand.
Meanwhile, the silly bear was pretending to be dead, which was its specialty.
The Japanese soldier didn't notice anything unusual at all.
Seeing that there was no way to avoid it, Bai Luo could only lead the two horses slowly toward Sato Shujin.
He kept glancing around out of the corner of his eye, searching for an escape route in case of an accident.
Seeing that Bai Luo was walking a little slowly, Sato Shujin quickly went to meet him.
He circled the horse carrying the silly bear in front of him several times.
Bai Luo was prepared to retrieve the Gatling gun from his spatial storage, ready to respond to any unforeseen circumstances.
At the same time, he glanced at the Japanese positions at the city gate out of the corner of his eye, planning his retreat route after the firefight.
The silly girl on horseback had one hand discreetly placed under the saddle, where Bai Luo's 9mm 1911 pistol was.
"Is this the bear that headquarters is looking for? I didn't expect Kimura-kun to actually find the team that attacked the Special Higher Police. Has that team been eliminated?"
After looking him over several times, Sato Shujin finally spoke, but his words almost caught Bai Luo off guard.
"Ah...yes, that's it. We eliminated it."
Bai Luo was taken aback when he heard Sato Shujin's words, and then immediately followed up with what he said.
Fortunately, Bai Luo was at the very back of the column, where there were no more Japanese cavalry behind them, otherwise they would have definitely been exposed.
"Yoshi, it seems Kimura-kun won't be punished by the commander. I'll bring a bottle of my hometown's best wine to celebrate for him tomorrow. Alright, you can go in now. Quickly take this warrior of the empire to Renxiang Hospital for treatment."
"Hi."
Bai Luo reacted swiftly, leading two horses through the city gate.
Sato looked outside the city again and, finding no more straggling cavalrymen, immediately ordered the city gates closed.
It's freezing cold, and the bird doesn't want to stay outside at all.
