Chapter 175 Symbolic Exploration and Approaching Crisis
Chapter 175 Symbolic Exploration and Approaching Crisis
Inside the stone house, the tremors grew stronger, as if the earth itself was shaking in anger. Huge stones rained down from the ceiling, crashing to the ground and sending countless fragments flying. Dust billowed, filling the entire space and making it almost impossible to breathe. Each tremor was accompanied by a muffled rumble, as if the stone house was uttering its final lament.
Huanmo held Ling'er tightly, dodging and weaving through the flying rocks. His eyes were firm yet anxious, constantly watching their surroundings as he shouted, "Everyone be careful! Be safe! We must find the symbol as soon as possible!" He felt a deep sense of urgency, knowing that every second that passed increased their danger. Protecting Ling'er while searching for a way out weighed heavily on him, but he knew he couldn't panic; he had to remain calm and lead everyone out of danger.
Wanru trudged through the dust, covering her mouth and nose with her sleeve to try and block out the acrid grime. Her eyes searched every nook and cranny. "Where is this symbol hidden?" she wondered anxiously, silently praying to find a clue as soon as possible. Suddenly, she spotted a blurry symbol beside a collapsed stone pillar and rushed over. "Found one!" she shouted, her voice trembling with excitement.
The woman in white dodged falling rocks while intently sensing the fluctuations in spiritual energy. Her zither music sounded weak and urgent in the chaotic environment, as she tried to find traces of symbols in the changes in spiritual energy. "The spiritual energy here is a bit abnormal; perhaps there are symbols nearby." She walked quickly in one direction and found another symbol in a crack in the stone wall. "There's one here too!"
The mysterious man, on the other side of the stone house, used his extensive experience and keen observation to search for symbols. His eyes were sharp, not missing a single trace. "The distribution of these symbols seems to follow a certain pattern. We need to find enough symbols as soon as possible and decipher their order," he said as he rummaged through the pile of stones.
Huanmo was delighted to hear Wanru and the woman in white calling out. "Everyone, remember the locations of the symbols you find. We need to compare them and find the pattern," he shouted, while continuing to search the surrounding area.
Ling'er clutched the book tightly, following beside Huanmo, her eyes searching intently. "Brother Huanmo, I'm looking too." Her voice, though tinged with fear, was filled with determination.
Just then, a huge boulder came crashing down on Wanru. Seeing this, Huanmo was startled and shouted, "Wanru, watch out!" Without hesitation, he rushed towards her and pushed her aside. The boulder slammed into the ground, and the flying debris cut Huanmo's arm.
"Huanmo, are you alright?" Wanru asked anxiously, her eyes filled with worry.
Huanmo wiped the blood off his arm and said, "I'm fine, don't worry about me, keep looking for symbols."
The group continued their tense search for symbols inside the stone house. As time passed, they found several symbols, but they had no clue about the order in which they were triggered.
The mysterious man frowned as he looked at the symbols they had marked on the ground. "These symbols seem random, but they must be connected. Let's think carefully about our experiences in the stone house. Are there any clues that could indicate the sequence?"
Huanmo fell into deep thought, recalling their various encounters in the stone house—from triggering the symbols on the disc to seeing the murals, and then to the battle with the fire giant. Suddenly, a thought struck him. "The murals! Could the order of the patterns on those murals be related to the order in which the symbols were triggered?"
Everyone agreed that it made sense. Wanru said, "But the murals are already a bit blurry, and we're not sure if it's really related to the order of the symbols."
The woman in white said, "In any case, this is the only clue we have right now, so we can give it a try."
Just as everyone was preparing to try triggering the symbol according to Huanmo's prediction, the tremors in the stone house reached their peak. The entire stone house began to shake violently, as if it were about to be completely destroyed by an invisible hand.
At this critical moment when the stone house is on the verge of collapse, can the group accurately trigger the symbols based on the clues in the murals and find the exit? Has the powerful force hidden within the stone house awakened, preparing to launch a fatal attack? Can they escape this terrifying predicament before the stone house collapses? Everything is fraught with unknowns and dangers; the scales of fate are tipping precariously, and everyone's life hangs by a thread...
