Chapter 134 Don't dwell on the past.
I was so tired from putting away the things I bought from the supermarket that I didn't even have the energy to buy groceries or cook.
Fortunately, we can still order takeout.
She returned to living and eating takeout alone, but this was a life she had lived for most of her life, and she quickly adapted.
There's no TV in the rented room, so I can only play on my phone, but playing on my phone really interferes with eating.
After dinner, she remembered there was a shopping center nearby. It was still early, and she was bored to be alone in the long night, so she changed her shoes and went out for a walk.
While strolling through the shopping center, she entered a furniture store. Seeing the walls covered with televisions, she inquired about their prices. After asking around, she suddenly realized that there was no need to buy a television, since it would be difficult to move when she moved in the future.
But you need some noise when you eat alone, otherwise it will be too depressing.
Next, she entered another mobile phone store and was immediately attracted by the laptops on the display stand.
Seeing her lingering in front of the computer, the salesperson smiled and asked, "Are you buying this for your child? This model is perfect for college students. What's your child's major?"
She shook her head. "I'll use it myself."
The salesperson then asked, "What do you want to use it for? Studying or working?"
She said, "Watch TV."
The salesperson smiled and said, "This one is more than enough for you. It's perfect for watching TV shows or using office software smoothly. There's even a discount if you buy it now."
He Qiaoyun glanced at the price and immediately made her decision, "Okay, get me one."
The shop assistant was surprised by her quick agreement and immediately smiled broadly: "Okay, I'll go to the warehouse and get you the new stock."
While the shop assistant was getting the goods, she started playing with the computer on the display stand.
Back when I was still with Xu Hui, we had a desktop computer at home, which we bought for the kids to use for studying.
Later, as they grew up, they disliked the bulky desktop computers, so they bought laptops for them, and the desktop computers became their accounting tools.
After her divorce, she kept track of her expenses using her phone and a notebook, and now she has finally bought her own laptop.
After paying and leaving the mall, I passed by a dessert shop on the street and suddenly had a sweet craving, so I went in and bought a small cake on sale.
Although being alone can be lonely, it does offer freedom, allowing you to do whatever you want.
When she got home, she opened the computer box and happily welcomed her new computer.
After turning on the power, I played around for a while, changing wallpapers and downloading software. Before I knew it, the cake was gone, and it was late at night.
I shut down the computer, got up, stretched, and went back to my room to wash up.
By the time I finished washing up, it was almost eleven o'clock.
She lay down on the bed, picked up her phone, and saw a message from Feng Jiashu in the notification bar.
Feng Jiashu: [I can't sleep a bit. I was thinking of going downstairs to chat with you, but then I realized you've already moved out. Are you asleep?]
He Qiaoyun opened the chat window, typed away, but couldn't send the message for a long time. Finally, she exited WeChat, put down her phone, turned off the bedside lamp, and fell asleep.
She replied the next morning after waking up: "Sorry, I went to bed very early last night."
Feng Jiashu had just woken up when he received the message. He hadn't slept well the night before, so he got up a little late.
He replied: "It's okay, it's the weekend. What are your plans?"
He Qiaoyun: [Today's going to be busy. The students are getting ready for school to start, so I need to go buy supplies. After a summer vacation, I also need to clean the small supermarket.]
Feng Jiashu: [What about tomorrow?]
He Qiaoyun: [I have to go back to the orchard tomorrow.]
Feng Jiashu: [How long will you be back this time?]
He Qiaoyun: [I don't know.]
Feng Jiashu stared at his phone, his expression unclear. He changed the subject: "Oh, right, there's something else I haven't told you. Tian Tian's voice has fully recovered, and she can start school in a few days."
He Qiaoyun: [Yes, congratulations.]
Feng Jiashu: [You deserve credit for this; I don't know whether to thank you or apologize.]
He Qiaoyun said frankly, "That's good. It's all in the past. There's no need to dwell on it. Otherwise, it'll make you feel bad."
Feng Jiashu stared at the words and murmured, "The matter is in the past, but it seems like we can't get over it..."
He sighed, washed up, and went downstairs, where he saw Tian Tian sitting on the sofa with a tablet computer in her hand.
He walked over, took the tablet away, and said, "Stop playing and have breakfast first."
Tian Tian got up, responded with an "Oh," and then walked towards the dining table.
Feng Jiashu put down his tablet, walked to the dining table and sat down. He first asked about Tian Tian's mental state, "What time did you go to sleep last night? Did you wake up in the middle of the night? Did you have any nightmares? Tell your uncle the truth."
He was very worried that witnessing Ruan Shu push He Qiaoyun down the stairs, such a dangerous scene, would leave her with psychological trauma.
Tian Tian shook her head. "I went to bed at ten o'clock and didn't have any strange dreams." Then she asked, "Uncle, when is Aunt He coming back?"
Feng Jiashu was relieved. It seemed he had made the right choice in hiring a psychologist. However, her question was difficult for him to answer, and it was the same question she had been asking for two or three days.
As he served her porridge, he said, "Aunt He, you have your own things to do, you should eat your breakfast first."
She then asked, "Was Aunt He seriously injured?"
Feng Jiashu said, "No, she's fine."
"Oh."
After that, the two stopped talking, and Feng Jiashu ate his breakfast while looking at his phone.
The next moment, he received a call from his lawyer.
He glanced at Tian Tian, stood up and said, "You eat first, I'm going to take this call."
"Oh."
He answered the phone after stepping outside into the yard. "Hmm, what's up?"
Lawyer: "Mr. Feng, Ruan Shu is refusing to eat or drink in the detention center and says she wants to see you."
Feng Jiashu raised his hand and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Tell her I won't see her. The law is impartial, and she should be sentenced according to the law."
Lawyer: "She said she has something important to tell you, it's about your aunt."
Feng Jiashu's expression hardened. "About Aunt?"
Lawyer: "Well, if you have time, please come over. She seems quite serious; she probably really has something to say to you."
Feng Jiashu hesitated for a moment and said, "Okay, schedule a time to meet me in the morning."
Lawyer: "Okay, I'll text you later."
Feng Jiashu: "Okay."
After hanging up the phone, he went back inside and continued eating breakfast.
After breakfast, he gave Tian Tian a few instructions, then changed his shoes and went out.
About an hour later, the car stopped outside the detention center. After getting out of the car, the lawyer who was waiting outside greeted him, "Mr. Feng, let's go."
"Ah."
A short while later, he met Ruan Shu.
Ruan Shu looked haggard after not sleeping or eating well for two days, but when she saw Feng Jiashu, she forced herself to smile at him and said, "Brother Jiashu, I knew you would come to see me."
Feng Jiashu gave him a cold look. "I'll give you ten minutes. Say what you have to say all at once."
