Chapter 12 The Lost Moment
Chapter 12 The Lost Moment
As he approached the door, Liu Shuyu pretended to look around and took out a bottle of red wine from his system space. He smiled to himself: Yu Hui, of course you can't find it. It wasn't there to begin with. He just made up an excuse to avoid sitting next to Bora. It would be even better if he could sit next to Deoksun.
"Hey! It's here!"
Holding up the glass of red wine, Liu Shuyu said happily.
"Wow! Red wine!" Paula's dad exclaimed, overjoyed.
Seeing that Paula's dad was getting carried away and about to reveal his true colors, Paula's mom quickly laughed and scolded him, patting him twice.
Paula's dad was completely stunned, wondering what he had done to upset his wife again.
"Auntie, everyone can have a little bit of this red wine. Drinking a little can be good for your health," Liu Shuyu said.
"Oh dear, Shuyu, I've made you spend money again." Paula's mother looked embarrassed.
"Auntie, it's alright. By the way, do you have a cup?"
"Yes, yes, I'll get them for you," Paula's mom quickly got up and went to the kitchen cabinet outside to get disposable paper cups.
Yu Hui: So I'm not only superfluous, I'm also a useless piece of trash, right? Why can't I find it?
A group of people sat cross-legged on the ground.
After repeated polite requests from Bora's parents, Liu Shuyu filled their glasses to the brim, then picked up his glass and poured half for Bora, Deok-sun, and himself.
As for the afterglow...
The afterglow was too small, and even though it was red wine, Paula's parents didn't allow them to drink it.
He even got a lecture from Bora and Deoksun.
Maybe.....
From Deok-sun's perspective, she only has one 'violent' older sister, Bora.
From Yu Hui's perspective, he has two "Paula" sisters...
Yu Hui: Life is tough...
"Hmm~ Tsk tsk tsk~" This is Paula's dad.
"Wow, this is delicious!" That's Deok-sun.
"Oh, what a wonderful day!" This is Paula's mom.
"Another drink, please," said Paula.
"Smacking sounds"—that's Yu Hui, the foodie.
Liu Shuyu skillfully poured Bora another glass, then glanced at Deok-sun, who was already happily gnawing on a large chicken leg.
He drank a little bit of red wine, and his face turned completely red.
Seeing her happily munching on a chicken leg, Liu Shuyu couldn't help but smile knowingly.
Deok-sun, I will do my best to make up for what you lack. A kind person will never lack people who love her. It may just be that time is delayed, but it will never be too late.
......
At Jamsil Stadium in South Korea, Deok-sun is busy putting on makeup and carefully arranging her hair.
"Deok-sun! It's calling you, come out quickly!" A sign-holding woman dressed in a heavy hanbok pushed open the door and called out to Deok-sun.
"Really?" Deok-sun's answer revealed a hint of uncertainty, as if to say, "Finally, it's my turn. Oh my god, is this for real?"
Jamsil Stadium
"Don't be nervous, just answer the questions properly," a reporter with a small notebook reassured Deok-sun, whose voice had changed from excitement.
"Okay, I understand," Deok-sun replied, her voice rising and falling with her rapid breathing.
After the reporter handed her the microphone, Deok-sun read out her official self-introduction with a blank smile, as if reciting a prepared script.
The reporter skillfully asked two questions related to her life and training, and Deok-sun answered them in a very official tone, until...
"You must be so proud to be a placard girl! So you must feel even more regretful," the reporter asked with a smile.
As Deok-sun's smile slowly faded and she looked on in confusion, the reporter continued, "When did you hear that Madagascar was unable to participate?"
Deok-sun's smile vanished completely.
Seeing this, the reporter seemed somewhat understanding and continued, "Madagascar announced yesterday that they could not participate. As their placard bearer, you must be very disappointed, right? What are your thoughts?"
When the microphone was held to her lips, Deok-sun was unable to utter a single word for a moment.
When people are grieving, they often have nothing to say and no idea what they are thinking. This is commonly referred to as "their mind is a complete mess" or "the pain is so intense that they can't breathe."
Seeing the deep sadness on Deok-sun's face, the reporter said regretfully, "It seems like a huge blow to you, considering how much time has passed and how difficult it must have been in the heat."
"Ms. Sung Deok-sun, it's truly a great pity. Although it's regrettable, please say one last thing to the people," the reporter couldn't help but comfort her, seeing the tears welling up in Deok-sun's eyes.
"Although I can't participate in the Olympics, I hope the Olympics can be held smoothly. I will pray harder than anyone else. Fighting!" Deok-sun said the most emotional official words in this interview, but they were filled with sadness.
......
Nighttime, at Sunwoo's house.
"Sunwoo! Go buy some oil for Mom!" Sunwoo's mother called out as she prepared dinner, looking at the empty oil bottle.
"Sunwoo! Buy some oil for Mom!" Seeing no response, she called out again.
There was still no response, and Sunwoo's mother wore a strange expression.
"Sunwoo?" she called tentatively as she walked to the door, pushing it open to look inside.
The house was empty.
“My brother isn’t here; he went out wearing his coat,” Pearl said, sitting at the dining table.
Looking at the empty room, Sunwoo's mother couldn't help but show a melancholy expression. Yes, the child has grown up and should have his own private space and privacy.
She strolled around the room, looking at the certificates of merit on the walls, the clothes hanging on the wall, and the books on the desk. Everything was the same as before, except that the child who used to talk to her about everything had finally changed.
Sunwoo's mother opened the drawer, rummaging through Sunwoo's clothes. Just as she was about to leave, her eyes glanced casually at something, and she suddenly froze.
A pack of cigarettes lay under the desk. When Shanyu's mother looked at the cigarettes, tears welled up in her eyes. She sat on the desk, lost in thought, and didn't recover for a long time.
......
This night, many people are destined to be unable to sleep.
Deok-sun walked dejectedly through the alley on her way home from the gymnasium.
"Sister, why are you only coming back now? I'm starving!" Yu Hui returned from outside and saw De Shan. He called out as he walked over and pulled De Shan towards the house.
Young Yu Hui didn't notice the disappointment in Deok-sun's eyes.
"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to dear Paula!" Today is Paula's birthday, and the whole family is happily celebrating with her.
But they didn't see Deok-sun sitting there with such empty eyes and a blank expression.
"Blow it out, blow out the candles!" Paula's parents and younger brother Yu Hui said happily.
Paula also blew out the candle with a "whoosh".
Just as everyone was happily clapping, Yu Hui picked up a cake knife to cut the cake.
"Wait a minute!" Paula's dad grabbed his hand as he looked at him. "Pull out three."
"That one, that one!" Paula's mom directed Paula's dad to pull out the candle.
