Chapter 456 Crash
Chapter 456 Crash
The sun hung high in the sky, its scorching rays shooting straight down at the earth like countless sharp arrows.
In the vast desert, a steam train that was once gleaming with golden light and looked majestic has now crashed in a sorry state.
The massive vehicle lay sprawled between the sand dunes, a broken and chaotic ravine stretching into the distance, as if it were a mark left after its painful struggle.
The locomotive of the steam train was deeply embedded in the sand, its smokestack sticking out crookedly. Its outer skin was distorted by some strange energy, and cracks covered it like wounds.
Broken glass and parts were scattered all around, gleaming blindingly in the sunlight.
Inside the carriage, a grotesque, enormous rift tore through the metal exterior, revealing the scene inside.
The carriage was a mess, with all sorts of odds and ends scattered everywhere, as if it had been ransacked by an invisible hand.
The seats were askew, and most of the items were even thrown out of the carriage, leaving drag marks on the sand.
The wheels of the steam train were severely deformed, sinking helplessly into the sand. A thin layer of mist covered the surrounding dunes, the smoke and dust from the train crash, which has not yet dissipated.
A lizard the size of a finger scurried past the wreckage, curiously examining the enormous creature before it.
But the next moment, it was startled by a metallic scraping sound, and its figure fled at lightning speed, disappearing behind the sand dunes in an instant.
"Cough, cough cough cough..."
With great effort, Qin Nan pried open the guardrail that bound her and climbed out of the carriage.
She felt pain all over her body. Although she hadn't suffered any external injuries, the direct confrontation with the timeline had put immense pressure on her body.
A pressure that feels like it could crush even your bones.
Staggering to his feet, Qin Nan looked around blankly, trying to find anyone else.
"Tang Zijun... Lao Chang... feed..."
Slightly out of breath, Qin Nan's voice grew louder.
"Hey, is anyone there? Is anyone there?"
Above, several large, unidentified birds hovered, their sharp eyes fixed on the crashed train below, seemingly awaiting a feast.
After a while, a faint sound came from the direction of the front of the car.
"I...I'm here..."
Hearing this noise, Qin Nan's eyes lit up, and her previously tense heart calmed down a little.
In this bizarre environment, having a companion is clearly much better than being alone.
Without the slightest hesitation, Qin Nan hurriedly dragged her somewhat disheveled body toward the direction of the sound. After passing through a narrow metal hole, she finally found the owner of the sound.
Suolin was hanging upside down on the control panel on the reverse side of the train engine. She had been secured there beforehand, which was why she hadn't been thrown off.
When Qin Nan saw her, Suolin also spotted her. "Quick, quick, come save me! Oh my god, this is so exciting! Even the ship maneuvers during the Ark battles weren't this thrilling..."
"You can still chatter, so it seems you're not seriously injured." Qin Nan leaned over and took her head off the control panel, looking rather annoyed.
"I wouldn't say I'm injured, after all, our bodies are different. I'm a humanoid robot now, remember? I stopped being human a long time ago," Zolin chattered on.
Although Qin Nan didn't appreciate Suolin's nagging, she had to admit that having such a talkative person around made her feel less tense than before.
Seeing that Suolin was about to say something more, she quickly interrupted her. "Let's not talk about that now. Do you know what just happened?"
"just?"
Suolin blinked, then looked around at the devastated scene and the empty carriages.
"Hmm... those guys are really crazy. They actually dared to launch an attack in reverse time flow. This is practically a suicidal attack. They could be annihilated by time energy if they're not careful."
"What?!" Qin Nan's eyes widened in shock. "You, you mean... Tang Zijun, and Sister Tan, were all... annihilated by the energy of time?!"
No.
Suddenly, a voice slowly appeared in Qin Nan's mind.
She was taken aback at first, then suddenly realized that this was the telepathic ability of magical girls.
"Katie! Is that you?"
It's me, Sister Qin Nan..."
Katie's voice was not much different from before; it was still the same human-machine interface.
However, her voice sounded tired and weak.
"Wait? Who are you talking to? Is it that strange AI from before? I remember that girl's name was Katie." Zorin naturally couldn't hear the magical girl's telepathy.
Qin Nan ignored her and instead kept moving her gaze around, trying to find Katie's location.
No need to bother, Sister Qin Nan, I'm right here.
"You..." Qin Nan frowned slightly, then, as if realizing something, her gaze fixed on the surrounding carriages. "You, you wouldn't happen to be..."
"Yes, I am this train, and this train is me. It's just that I no longer have enough power to coalesce into a physical body."
"How could this happen..."
Those two trains crashed through my world's barrier, and a massive amount of time energy poured into my surface world. I used most of my power to preserve my own integrity, otherwise I would have been instantly devoured by the time energy. Although I survived, my energy was also greatly depleted..."
Hearing Katie's words, Qin Nan didn't speak, but looked at the dilapidated train around him with complicated emotions.
It's likely that Katie's energy and magic were not the only things she consumed; her physical body was also severely impacted.
Seemingly sensing Qin Nan's gaze, Katie continued.
"Don't worry about me, Sister Qin Nan. My energy center wasn't damaged, so I can recover. As long as you give me enough time, I can continue driving."
"That's good..." Qin Nan breathed a sigh of relief, then raised her head again. "Wait, you just said that Tang Zijun and the others weren't annihilated by the time energy, is that true?"
"Of course it's true."
Katie's voice gently entered Qin Nan's mind.
My connection with my brother is still there, even though we are not in the same environment or at the same point in time. I am certain that he is still alive, and not only him, but everyone else is alive too.
"And others too..."
Before the time travel plan began, my brother asked me to leave some marks on you so that even if we were scattered across different timelines, I could still sense your location.
As she spoke, Katie's voice sounded somewhat disappointed.
I just never expected that I could sense their presence, yet I was completely unable to move...
"It's alright. Didn't you say you'd recover given enough time?" Qin Nan raised her hand and gently stroked the wall inside the carriage. "I believe you."
...Um!"
After a moment of silence, Katie responded firmly.
I will try to repair myself as soon as possible, but in the meantime, please ask Sister Qin Nan not to let any other guys disturb me. I'm currently crashed in the real world and have no way to open the barrier to the surface world.
"Don't worry, I'm here. I won't let anyone bother you."
Qin Nan spoke earnestly, and then her expression became somewhat strange.
"But...where exactly are we right now?"
In the distance, a gentle breeze occasionally swept by, stirring up fine sand that softly pattered against the wreckage of the train, the faint sound like the sigh of the desert.
Qin Nan carried Suolin out of the carriage and looked at the bright sun in the sky.
In this endless sea of sand, the crashed steam train appears exceptionally small, like a forgotten relic.
"Please make sure you bring enough food and water, thank you. I don't want to see you dying in three days."

"..." Qin Nan tapped Suo Lin on the head in annoyance. "You don't need to tell me, Tang Zijun has already prepared enough supplies, which are hidden in the reflection of the carriage."
After saying that, Qin Nan sighed softly again.
"I wonder where Tang Zijun and the others are now. If they were in this situation, where would they find food..."
"Um... Instead of worrying about others, I think you should worry about yourself."
"What do you mean?" Qin Nan frowned.
Suddenly, she noticed that several streaks of dark blue lightning appeared out of thin air on the distant sand dunes, and then, one after another, intelligent machines appeared in her field of vision.
"Mysterious train crash site detected—"
'
"Life signs detected, codename: Magical Girl - Blue".
"Information being collected, calculations in progress, execution commencing."
A series of mechanical metallic sounds tore through the intense heat of the sun, and weapons began to emerge from the bodies of the intelligent machines, aiming at Qin Nan and the Suolin in her hand from afar.
"All right..."
Qin Nan watched this scene quietly, her lips twitching slightly.
She then placed Suolin behind her.
"Be careful, these androids are not simple," Zolin couldn't help but warn.
A dangerous glint flashed in Qin Nan's eyes.
"fine."
"I'm not that simple either."
