Chapter 158 You're really something else
Zhu Ziqing took a USB flash drive out of her bag.
Then he gently pushed it in front of Mr. Yan.
"This is a small gift to mark our meeting. I hope Mr. Yan likes it." She smiled slightly, her tone carrying a hint of mystery.
Mr. Yan picked up the USB drive, twirled it between his fingers, and a hint of curiosity flashed in his eyes.
"What's in here? Could it be Miss Zhu's private collection?"
Zhu Ziqing chuckled lightly, her tone indifferent.
"Mr. Yan will understand once he sees it."
She stood up, picked up her bag, and turned to walk towards the door.
"I have something to do, I'll be going now."
Mr. Yan watched her retreating figure, then suddenly reached out as if to grab something, but slowly lowered his hand.
"Zhu Ziqing..." he murmured her name, his tone tinged with longing.
"What a lovely name."
He looked down at the USB drive in his hand, a meaningful smile playing on his lips.
"Do you really... not belong to me?"
Zhu Ziqing walked out of the coffee shop. The wind in the alley, mixed with snowflakes, tousled her long hair.
She walked forward step by step, leaving deep footprints, which were quickly covered by newly fallen snowflakes.
"Mom, can you see that?" She looked up at the sky, took a deep breath, and her eyes were firm.
"Qingqing will never let those who hurt you get away with it."
She walked to the taxi stand and hailed a car.
Once inside the car, she took out her phone and dialed a number.
"Siqi, the matter is settled."
"Next, proceed as planned."
On the other end of the phone, Li Siqi's voice was filled with excitement.
"Ziqing, you're amazing! I knew you could handle this!"
Zhu Ziqing smiled, her tone calm.
"This is just the beginning."
"Those who hurt me and my mother, none of them will get away with it."
Meanwhile, in the coffee shop.
Mr. Yan inserted the USB drive into the computer, and a file quickly appeared on the screen.
He opened the file, his expression gradually becoming serious.
"I see..." he murmured to himself, his smile deepening.
"Zhu Ziqing, you are indeed extraordinary."
He closed the file, picked up his phone, and dialed a number.
"It's me, the plans have changed."
"Zhu Ziqing is more valuable than we imagined."
After hanging up the phone, Mr. Yan walked to the window and looked at the snowflakes falling outside.
"Zhu Ziqing, we'll see each other again soon."
……
After leaving the coffee shop, Zhu Ziqing got into a taxi.
Zhu Ziqing leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes to rest.
The scenes from the past kept replaying in her mind.
Her mother's tears, her father's indifference, and the faces of those who had hurt her.
"Mom, don't worry," she murmured softly, her tone firm.
"This time, I will make them pay the price."
Zhu Ziqing's heart suddenly raced, and a strange sense of panic welled up inside her.
She gripped the bag strap tightly, with only one thought in her mind—
"I want to see Tan Haoyu."
She took out her phone, wanting to call him, but hesitated.
"He's been so busy lately, won't this bother him?"
Zhu Ziqing felt a little disappointed when she thought about how Tan Haoyu was working long hours because of the Sunshine Group's western development project.
"We don't spend enough time together... Is that why I feel uneasy?"
She bit her lip, but finally made up her mind.
"Go to his company and invite him to lunch."
Zhu Ziqing took Metro Line 11 to the Sunshine Group Building.
Her heart was pounding all the way, as if something bad was about to happen.
"What happened..." she muttered to herself, her brows furrowed.
We soon arrived outside the Sunshine Group building.
Zhu Ziqing looked up at the towering landmark building and felt a sense of emotion.
"Haoyu is busy here every day..."
She walked to the building entrance, but was stopped by the access control.
"Sorry, you can't enter without an appointment," the security guard said politely but firmly.
Zhu Ziqing smiled helplessly, "Alright, then I'll just wander around here."
She walked around the building, and the feeling of being watched grew stronger and stronger.
"Is someone watching me?" She looked around but saw nothing.
"Maybe I'm overthinking it..." she tried to comfort herself, but the unease did not subside at all.
Just as she was about to call Tan Haoyu, the glass door of the building suddenly opened.
A group of people surrounded a tall figure as he walked out.
"Mr. Tan, the meeting materials for this afternoon are ready."
"Well, hard work."
A familiar voice came from behind her, and Zhu Ziqing looked up to see Tan Haoyu.
He was wearing a silver-gray suit, with handsome features and a focused and serious expression.
Zhu Ziqing watched as Tan Haoyu walked out surrounded by a group of people, and felt a sense of relief.
"With him here, nothing should go wrong..." she murmured to herself, her eyes full of dependence.
She suddenly became curious about the relationship between Tan Haoyu and the Sunshine Group.
"Is his high position at such a young age due to family connections, or is it entirely due to his own hard work?"
Just then, Tan Haoyu led a group of people to her side.
Zhu Ziqing quickly stepped aside and couldn't help but call out.
"Haoyu!"
Tan Haoyu nodded coolly, but his gaze did not linger on her.
"Ah."
Zhu Ziqing's heart sank, and a look of disappointment flashed across her face.
"Didn't he recognize me...?"
Just then, Tan Haoyu suddenly stopped.
He turned to look at Zhu Ziqing, his expression somewhat surprised.
"Ziqing?"
Zhu Ziqing was stunned for a moment, then realized what was happening—
He didn't even notice me!
"It's me..." She smiled awkwardly, feeling somewhat helpless.
Tan Haoyu's gaze lingered on her face for a few seconds, then his eyes softened instantly.
"Why are you here?" He walked quickly to her, his voice filled with surprise.
Looking at him, Zhu Ziqing's unease suddenly dissipated.
"I...I missed you, so I came to see you."
Tan Haoyu smiled and reached out to ruffle her hair.
"Silly girl, just call me if you miss me."
Zhu Ziqing lowered her head, her voice somewhat muffled.
"I'm afraid of disturbing your work..."
Tan Haoyu held her hand, his voice gentle.
"You will never bother me."
"Let's go, I'll take you to eat."
Before Zhu Ziqing could answer, all eyes were already on her.
She instantly became the center of attention, her face burning with embarrassment.
"I...I'm fine, you go ahead with your work," she said softly, trying to ease the awkwardness.
Tan Haoyu frowned, turned to the people behind him and instructed, "You go and get the work done first. The afternoon meeting will proceed as scheduled."
"Yes, Mr. Tan," everyone replied in unison, and then they all left.
Tan Haoyu then walked up to Zhu Ziqing, his tone softening.
Why are you here?
Zhu Ziqing lowered her head, her voice somewhat muffled.
Did I bother you?
Tan Haoyu shook his head. "I've finished my work."
He reached out and took her hand, his tone firm.
"Let's go have lunch together."
