Chapter 115 Frost Soul Demon Lord
Chapter 115 Frost Soul Demon Lord
Looking out from the gap between the Nine Domains and the Kuiwei Guardian, Ning Xiaoxi saw that the bloodstains on the ground were increasing. The strong stench of blood made Ning Xiaoxi cover her nose, and the overwhelming smell made her stomach churn, but she knew she couldn't vomit it up no matter what.
Because she was following behind Jiu Yu, she couldn't see his expression, but she could feel the coldness from Kuiwei's side. The aura emanating from Jiu Yu made her involuntarily shrink her neck; the yin energy was so overflowing it was almost solid. Behind her, Chi Yuan was radiating scalding heat; this feeling of being torn between ice and fire was truly agonizing.
The four seemed to have reached a tacit understanding, lining up on either side to block Ning Xiaoxi's view. However, the increasing amount of blood at her feet made Ning Xiaoxi's heart pound.
The Spirit Crystal Heart obediently transformed into a dagger and lay in her palm, not daring to make any big movements for fear of being discovered by the Nine Realms.
She walked forward for about a hundred meters, her eyes almost closed. If she wasn't allowed to look, then she wouldn't. It wasn't that she hadn't seen blood or corpses strewn across the land before; she had just never smelled such a pungent odor. Gradually, she seemed to adapt to the overwhelming, almost suffocating, smell of blood. Her light breathing no longer made her stomach churn, and the discomfort in her chest eased considerably.
Kuiweichi flicked his wrist and sent a firework soaring into the sky. A thick red firework exploded in the sky, and this time it lasted for a long time.
A mountain breeze blew by, and Ning Xiaoxi smelled a faint scent. It was such a familiar scent that Ning Xiaoxi subconsciously took a deep breath.
"Yue!" Ning Xiaoxi couldn't help but vomit and quickly covered her mouth.
"Xiao Xi?" Kuiwei Shouyu grabbed Ning Xiao Xi's arm.
Ning Xiaoxi opened her eyes wide, trying to ignore the scene before her, and said in a trembling voice, "Mountain...Mountain Moon."
"what?"
"The moon is on the mountain!" Ning Xiaoxi shouted and took off running up the mountain.
Before Kuiwei could react, Ning Xiaoxi rushed out.
"what!"
Jiuyu grabbed Ning Xiaoxi by the back of the neck and lifted her up.
"Let go, cough cough, let go of me!" Ning Xiaoxi swayed her body, "Shanyue, Shanyue!"
"The road ahead is unclear. How can we save people by rushing around like this?" Jiu Yu's voice remained cold as he picked up Ning Xiaoxi and pushed her to the back.
Kuiwei Shouyu reached out and lifted Ning Xiaoxi up by her knees, gently stroking her back with his other hand, and whispered, "Xiaoxi, don't rush."
Ning Xiaoxi was startled by the sudden movement. She looked down and put her head on Kuiwei Shouyu's shoulder to look back. She then realized that Kuiwei Shouyu's height had somehow become comparable to that of Chi and Yuan behind him, and he was holding her like a child.
"You, you... Shan... Shan Yue, he..." Ning Xiaoxi didn't know what she should care about for a moment, and she stammered as she spoke.
"The guards at the foot of the mountain have all been killed." Kuiwei Guardian's voice was low as he pressed Ning Xiaoxi's head down, not wanting her to see.
"Guardian, I can try to go back in time and see who the murderer is," Ning Xiaoxi whispered in Kuiwei Shouyu's ear.
Kuiwei Shouyu paused, his hand on Ning Xiaoxi's back tightened, but he didn't say anything.
"Guardian, I want to see how Shanyue got up the mountain."
Kuiwei Shouyu stopped, his dark eyes locking onto Ning Xiaoxi in his arms.
Ning Xiaoxi could feel a chilling aura behind her.
“Master, Xiaoxi has magic that can rewind events. We can see who the murderer is and why Shanyue came up the mountain.” Kuiwei Shouyu could sense the strangeness of the Nine Domains’ aura, but he assumed that his master was just gloomy from excessive grief.
Chi and Yuan both stared at Ning Xiaoxi.
Kuiwei Shouyu put Ning Xiaoxi down, letting her face everything before her.
Jiuyu, Chi, and Yuan all took a few steps back at the same time, giving Ning Xiaoxi enough space.
The Spirit Crystal Heart slowly condensed into a mirror in Ning Xiaoxi's palm. There were traces of backflow on the edge of the mirror, and spiritual power flowed between the traces, converging into a stream. The mirror stood upright, and its surface shimmered.
"Backtrack!"
Ripples spread across the mirror's surface, swirling to form a vortex. The surrounding energy transformed into streams of light that entered the mirror, including white spiritual power, black demonic energy, and various other colors of demonic energy. The vortex on the mirror spun faster and faster, collecting more and more energy. Finally, the vortex contracted, and the mirror became calm and smooth.
A picture gradually unfolds from the mirror.
A black shadow suddenly leaped out of the mirror, dragging a tall body with it, but the way it was being dragged didn't look like a living person at all.
"Shanyue!" Ning Xiaoxi called out as she looked at the person being dragged.
"Frost Soul!" The voices of the Nine Realms rang out simultaneously.
The Frost Soul Demon Lord exuded a chilling aura of evil. Tall and slender, his black robes fluttered in the wind, faint dark red patterns appearing and disappearing on the robes like dried blood, emanating an eerie presence. Upon closer inspection, one could sense that the black robes were no ordinary fabric, but rather formed from countless condensed resentments, each fold concealing the wails of wronged souls.
His face was as pale as paper, devoid of any color, as if he had never seen the sun, or as if sculpted from ice and snow, exuding a chilling aura. His brow bones were high, and two black flame-like eyebrows slanted into his temples, adding to his ferocious appearance. His purple eyes, like burning infernos, constantly flashed with cruelty and ruthlessness, as if they could see through the fear in people's hearts and mercilessly crush it.
His hair was as black as ink, yet it possessed an unusual sheen, as if it had absorbed all the darkness in the world. His long hair was casually draped behind him, and as he moved, faint black mist swirled around the strands, like countless dark spirits flitting and leaping among them.
At this moment, he stealthily slipped into the foot of Kongsang Mountain, which was guarded by the Kuafu tribe, dragging the seemingly lifeless Kuiwei Shanyue in his hand.
The hundred guards of the Kuafu tribe were all elites of the clan. They were tall and strong, like moving small mountains. Although they wore only thin clothes, their skin was crimson. Facing the Frost Soul Demon Lord, they all used solar energy techniques. Heat waves rolled, and the ice and snow at the foot of the mountain began to melt, soon revealing the black earth.
The first priest of the Kuafu tribe stood behind the guard formation. He wore a simple yet solemn priest's robe, embroidered with strange patterns symbolizing the Kuafu tribe's communication with heaven and earth. His face was weathered by time, with black hair, white skin, and a black robe. An eerie fragility made him look like a delicate moon shadow cast upon the earth, rather than a real person standing there.
The Frost Soul Demon Lord, holding Kuiwei Shanyue hostage, walked slowly toward the defense line of Kongsang Mountain. His steps seemed leisurely, yet each one caused the earth to tremble.
One hundred Kongsang guards quickly formed ranks, knowing that a life-or-death battle was inevitable.
