Autobiography of Li Yunfei, a time traveler

Chapter 244: The Frontier Sect

Chapter 244: The Frontier Sect

After Li Yunfei and Feng Yu traveled together, they continued to venture into the martial arts world. They heard that the Dark Cult was stirring up trouble in a distant border city, so they decided to go and find out.

Along the way, the scenery was picturesque, but no one was in the mood to appreciate it. Li Yunfei rode on a white horse, frowning, thinking about the challenges he was about to face. His eyes were firm and deep, as if they could penetrate the thick fog ahead.

Lin Yue sat in the carriage, holding an ancient magic book in her hand, trying to find a more powerful spell to fight against the Dark Cult. She looked focused, occasionally looking up and looking out the window, with a hint of worry in her eyes.

Zhang Hao and Mo Ying rode on both sides of the team, vigilantly observing the surrounding movements. Zhang Hao's face was full of seriousness, and he held the spear tightly in his hand, as if ready to fight at any time. Mo Ying was silent, his eyes were like a hawk in the dark night, sharp and cold.

Feng Yu rode a fiery red horse and walked side by side with Li Yunfei. Her figure was graceful, her long hair fluttering in the wind, exuding a mysterious and charming aura.

"Li Yunfei, this trip to the border will probably not be easy." Feng Yu said softly, his voice like the song of a nightingale.

Li Yunfei nodded slightly, "But no matter what, we can't let the Dark Cult's conspiracy succeed."

After several days of traveling, they finally arrived at the border city. This city was once prosperous, but now it seemed depressed and deserted. The guards at the city gate looked nervous, and when they saw them coming, a trace of vigilance flashed in their eyes.

"Who are you?" the guard asked loudly.

Li Yunfei cupped his hands and said, "We are here to fight against the Dark Cult."

The guard looked them up and down and said, "Go in, but be careful."

Entering the city, the streets were sparsely populated and most shops were closed. A cold wind blew, blowing up the fallen leaves on the ground, adding to the desolation.

"The atmosphere here is not right." Lin Yue said.

Li Yunfei glanced around and said, "First find a place to stay, then ask for information."

They came to a shabby inn, and when the innkeeper saw them, a look of surprise appeared on his face.

"Dear guests, it is very dangerous to come to the border at this time," said the boss.

Li Yunfei asked: "Boss, what happened in this city?"

The boss sighed, "The people from the Dark Cult appear frequently, causing panic among the people. Many people have left the city."

At this moment, there was a sudden noise outside.

Li Yunfei and others rushed out immediately, only to see a group of men in black robbing people of their belongings.

"Stop!" Li Yunfei shouted.

The man in black turned around, looked at them coldly, and raised a ferocious smile at the corner of his mouth: "Hey, here come a few more to die!" One of the men in black said arrogantly.

Li Yunfei saw this, a flash of anger flashed in his eyes, and without saying a word, he drew his sword and rushed forward. His movements were as fast as lightning, and in the blink of an eye, several men in black screamed and fell to the ground.

Zhang Hao and Mo Ying were not to be outdone and joined the battle. The spear in Zhang Hao's hand was like a dragon emerging from the sea, the tip of the spear flashing with cold light, and every swing brought a splash of blood. Mo Ying was like a ghost, shuttling among the men in black, and the dagger in his hand quickly harvested the lives of the enemies.

Feng Yu waved her hands, and a powerful flame gushed out from her hands. The blazing flame forced the men in black to retreat again and again. Lin Yue stood behind, constantly forming seals with her hands, and rays of light flew out from her hands and fell on everyone, adding a shield to them.

Seeing that the situation was not good, the man in black turned around and tried to escape. However, how could Li Yunfei let them escape so easily? He flashed, as fast as lightning, and blocked the way of the man in black in the blink of an eye.

Li Yunfei sneered and said, "Want to run? Not that easy!" As he spoke, he swung the sword in his hand again. The sword energy crisscrossed and formed an impenetrable sword net, trapping the man in black inside.

The men in black looked at the sword net in front of them in horror, struggling desperately, but unable to break through. In the end, they could only be strangled by the sword net helplessly, and the blood stained the ground red.

"Tell me, where is your nest?" Li Yunfei asked sternly.

The man in black sneered, "You don't want to know!" As he said that, he suddenly bit the poison in his mouth and fell to the ground and died.

"Damn it!" Zhang Hao said angrily.

Just then, an old man walked out from the crowd.

"Thank you for your help, heroes," said the old man.

Li Yunfei asked softly, "Old man, do you know the situation of the Dark Cult in this city?" The old man frowned and shook his head slowly, "Their whereabouts are secretive and elusive. But I have heard that there is an abandoned castle not far outside the city, where they are often seen." Li Yunfei's heart moved, and after looking at everyone, he decided to go to the abandoned castle to find out.

As night fell, the bright moon hung high in the sky, casting a cold light. Li Yunfei and others quietly came to the castle. The ancient and solemn building looked particularly eerie under the moonlight. The gate of the castle was closed tightly, as if guarding some secret. There was a gloomy atmosphere around, which was creepy.

Li Yunfei took a deep breath and gently pushed the door open. The door hinge made a dull sound, which echoed in the silent night sky. The castle was pitch black, and the silence was so terrifying that he stepped into the castle carefully, holding the weapon tightly in his hand, and vigilantly observing the movements around him. Others followed closely behind, not daring to be careless.

"Everyone be careful." Li Yunfei said in a low voice.

They walked into the castle cautiously. Suddenly, a cold wind blew and the torches were extinguished instantly.

"Not good!" Lin Yue exclaimed, her voice full of fear and tension. In the darkness, the sound of footsteps gradually became clearer, as if countless pairs of footsteps were approaching. Li Yunfei tightly grasped the sword in his hand, his eyes firm and resolute, ready to face danger at any time.

At this moment, a group of bats flew over their heads, their wings flapping in the air, making bursts of piercing sounds. This sudden scene startled everyone, and an ominous premonition surged in their hearts. Then, a group of dark cultists in black robes appeared in front of them. The faces of these dark cultists were shrouded in shadows, and their true appearances could not be seen, but the evil aura emanating from them could be felt.

"You are finally here." A leading dark cultist spoke, his voice was low and hoarse, with a chilling deterrent force. His eyes swept over Li Yunfei and others, his eyes flashing with a cold and ruthless light.
