Chapter 139 I want one too, thank you

Bai Yanlan had no idea that someone was still thinking about her new body, and at the moment she was staring blankly at the wild area beside the battle path.

It’s not that no one has entered the wild area before, but the mortality rate was too high, and even those who were lucky enough to escape didn’t gain any special benefits.

Gradually, everyone lost enthusiasm for exploring the wild area.

However, after sealing the enemy's teleportation array, there is a blessing given by the Ten Thousand Races Battlefield that allows one to teleport to one's own teleportation array anytime and anywhere.

This state at this time is a bit useless, and it is obviously prepared for people who want to enter the wild area.

In other words, this battlefield of all races is tempting people to enter the wild area.

Bai Yanlan thought for a long time and decided to go in and take a look to add some excitement to his dull life.

As soon as she made the decision, Song Kuang and Xu Jiayi immediately said, "Then we will go together."

"No need. You guys should take a good rest first." Bai Yanlan refused without thinking. She had the sudden idea of going on the adventure herself, so there was no need to drag others into it.

"If I'm in danger, I'll teleport myself out."

Seeing Bai Yanlan's firm attitude, the two had no choice but to give up. The days of fighting had really made them physically and mentally exhausted. They couldn't even concentrate fully, and instead easily became a drag.

……

After his spiritual power was almost recovered and his stomach was filled, Bai Yanlan walked into the wild area.

From the outside, the wild area was just a wilderness covered with weeds, with nothing else visible. But as soon as Bai Yanlan stepped into the wild area, the scene in front of her suddenly turned into a magnificent temple with red walls and golden tiles.

There were not many people in the temple, but the smell of incense was very strong. Rows of shelves were filled with lit candles, and the incense burner in front of the temple was filled with long incense sticks.

Bai Yanlan followed the sound of chanting and slowly walked into one of the halls.

In the center of the hall stands an exquisite Buddha statue. Because it has no brand name, Bai Yanlan cannot tell what kind of Buddha statue it is.

On the cushion in front of the Buddha, a young monk was sitting upright, beating a wooden fish while closing his eyes and muttering:

"The nature of the one who worships and the one who is worshipped is empty and silent, and the resonance of the Tao is inconceivable;

My place of practice is like an imperial pearl, in which the images of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas appear;

My shadow appears before all the Buddhas, and I bow my head to their feet and pay homage to them."

Seeing this, Bai Yanlan also walked up and sat cross-legged on the cushion on the other side. She took out a small wooden fish that was almost covered in dust and started beating it to the rhythm of the little monk.

The little wooden fish was carved by myself in order to accumulate merits, but was later forgotten in a corner and was hardly ever used.

"Boom boom boom..."

The little monk was startled by the sudden knocking sound, and his eyelids trembled violently for a few times. In the end, he resisted the urge to open his eyes and continued to mutter with his eyes closed.

"Nirvana means to be without birth, without death, to be free from birth and death, to be free from Nirvana. When the mind has no coming and going, it enters Nirvana. Therefore, Nirvana is the empty mind. When the Buddhas enter Nirvana, they are in a place without delusion. When the Bodhisattvas enter the Dharma field, they are in a place without affliction."

"The empty space is the place without greed, anger and ignorance. Greed is the realm of desire, anger is the realm of form, and ignorance is the realm of formlessness. If a thought arises in the mind, it enters the three realms; if a thought ceases, it leaves the three realms. Therefore, we know that the birth and death of the three realms, the existence and non-existence of all things, are all due to one mind."

"..."

The little monk kept on talking a lot, but Bai Yanlan didn't understand what he was asking for and couldn't follow him.

So, when the little monk paused, he said sincerely, "I think so too!"

Little monk: ...

"When the mind attains Nirvana, it does not see Nirvana. Why? The mind is Nirvana. If one sees Nirvana outside of the mind, this is called wrong view. All afflictions are the seeds of Tathagata, and wisdom is obtained because of afflictions. One can only say that afflictions give rise to Tathagata, but one cannot say that afflictions are Tathagata."

"So the body and mind are fields, afflictions are seeds, wisdom is sprouts, and the Tathagata is likened to a field. The Buddha is in the heart, just as fragrance is in a tree. When afflictions are gone, the Buddha emerges from the heart; when decay is gone, fragrance emerges from the tree."

This part sounds like a prayer for something good to take root in one’s heart and grow into a fragrant tree.

Bai Yanlan was confused, but that didn't stop her from saying, "I want one too!"

Then, he paused for half a second and added very politely: "Thank you."

Little monk: (ーー;)

The little monk couldn't help it after all. He opened his eyes and glared at Bai Yanlan. Then he stood up angrily and quickly walked out of the hall.

Bai Yanlan was about to stand up and chase after him when something strange happened in the hall.

The majestic golden Buddha statue suddenly emitted a soft light, and in the light, the Buddha statue slowly transformed into a human figure. The solemn face became kind and gentle because of the slightly raised corners of the mouth, and the gentle eyebrows were full of compassion and mercy for all things in time.

She was wearing a white robe and sitting on a lotus platform.

In general, that image is very consistent with Bai Yanlan's imagination of Bodhisattva.

But this expression did not lower Bai Yanlan's guard. Instead, he quickly retreated towards the door while shouting, "Little monk, please come back soon! Your sincerity has moved the gods, and the Buddha statue has appeared!!!"

Bai Yanlan was sure that she had shouted loudly enough, but the little monk's voice was no longer heard from the gate.

"Hehe, um, the monk who was chanting just now was a very sincere little monk. I'll go and call him back for you!" As he said that, Bai Yanlan wanted to rush to the door.

However, as expected, an accident occurred. A golden barrier appeared on the gate that was originally unobstructed.

It was very gentle, and even though Bai Yanlan's body directly collided with it, there was no feeling of pain.

But the intention of blocking him was also very obvious, and it was obvious that they did not intend to let Bai Yanlan run away.

"Little girl, why don't you come over here?" A gentle voice came, with a hint of smile.

Bai Yanlan had no choice but to turn around and face the deity emitting soft golden light. She put her hands together and performed a strange Buddhist salute: "I don't know how to address you, Your Excellency?"

"When you look at me, the name doesn't matter."

"Little girl, the fact that you and I can meet here is destined by fate." The god looked at Bai Yanlan kindly, as if he was looking at a close junior: "If you have any wishes, you can tell me, and I can help you realize them."

Bai Yanlan shook her head decisively: "I have everything I need, and I have nothing to ask for."

It's so funny. In a place where you are unfamiliar with everyone, and you mention a wish right away, you must be thinking you have too much time to live.

The god and Buddha still smiled, looked Bai Yanlan up and down, and continued: "I see that your soul and body are not compatible, and there are faint signs of possession."

"As the saying goes, you reap what you sow. What you steal, you will eventually lose."

The gods and Buddhas lowered their eyes, waiting to admire Bai Yanlan's panicked look as she asked her for help.

These were her three soul-stealing moves that always worked:

The first step is to point out the other party’s problem, the second step is to make targeted intimidation and threats, and the third step is to help solve the problem.

It only takes three steps to make people step into the trap and willingly sacrifice their souls.
