Chapter 641: Defeating Chu Zhongtian!
Chapter 641: Defeating Chu Zhongtian!
Chu Zhongtian had nowhere to escape. He could only desperately swing the King’s Spear in his hand to defend himself. The spear shot out like a dragon, surging forward and colliding with the unparalleled sword strike.
A thunderous roar resounded as a destructive force swept in all directions. The battlefield shook violently, and cracks tore through the ground, creating an apocalyptic scene.
BOOM.
In the next instant, Chu Zhongtian was sent flying backward, his spear clattering to the ground. Cracks spiderwebbed across his hands as his blood spattered into the air.
He was defeated.
Everyone stared in shock. The arena was terrifyingly quiet. After what felt like an eternity, someone finally roared, "He won! Lin Xuan won!"
"Ah, he really won! Lin Xuan actually won!"
"It’s incredible!"
"Lin Xuan is invincible!"
"Lin Xuan is invincible!"
The entire audience of martial artists shouted in unison, their voices so loud it seemed the very heavens would be overturned. Countless young martial artists applauded enthusiastically for Lin Xuan. The elders from the various great families and sects also applauded with excitement. This battle was truly magnificent, a legendary duel for the ages.
"The Young Master won," the members of the Lin Family wept with excitement.
The Wangyue Pavilion Master leaped into the air, and the disciples of Wangyue Pavilion erupted in cheers.
"Our Young Master has finally risen!" the Cyan Dragon Manor Master declared, old tears streaming down his face.
The Sword Casting Manor Master threw his head back and laughed. "Congratulations to Young Master Lin on his victory! I must prepare the finest Spirit Wine to celebrate!"
"Junior Brother Lin won!" A smile bloomed on Ye Qingwu’s lips. "Junior Brother Lin has created another miracle."
A dead silence fell over the Star Pavilion’s side. Their disciples were dumbfounded. The Star Pavilion Master stood frozen, his eyes vacant, while Chu Yue collapsed to the ground in despair.
Master Song’s scalp tingled. He turned and fled, not daring to linger for a moment.
The Pill King could only manage a bitter smile. I suppose I’ll never get my hands on that Anomalous Fire in this lifetime.
As for the Celestial King, he ground his teeth so hard they nearly shattered. His hopes for revenge were utterly extinguished. Lin Xuan was so powerful; who would dare to move against him? Who *could* move against him? He would never have the chance for the rest of his life. He could only watch helplessly as Lin Xuan grew stronger and stronger, destined to reach the pinnacle. The feeling was one of indescribable despair.
I actually lost... How could this happen? Chu Zhongtian lay on the ground, his mind a complete blank. He had never imagined he would lose. In his eyes, Lin Xuan was just a tiny ant. But now, he discovered he was wrong. Terribly wrong. Lin Xuan was a colossal dragon, one he could only gaze up at in awe. He surpassed him in every way. He was simply not his match. Even if given another chance, he couldn’t possibly win.
His face was ashen as he succumbed to utter despair.
On the other side, a smile touched Lin Xuan’s lips. He held the Divine Sword and strode toward Chu Zhongtian. When he reached him, a Dragon Claw shot out and clamped down on his head. With a forceful wrench, a mass of power was torn from Chu Zhongtian’s body as he let out a miserable scream.
The energy coalesced into the form of a Serpent, which bared its fangs and brandished its claws, struggling to resist. But held within Lin Xuan’s Dragon Claw, its struggles were futile.
The crowd was stunned.
"No, brother!" Chu Yue cried out in despair.
The Star Pavilion Master’s eyes turned bloodshot. Others gasped in shock.
"Is that Chu Zhongtian’s Dragon Dao Power? Was it completely extracted?"
"Is this the price of failure?"
"How tragic."
The crowd exclaimed repeatedly. The Heavenly Dao Academy Master shook his head and sighed, while the Sovereign closed his eyes in resignation. There was no other way; the battle of the two dragons was just that cruel.
However, although Chu Zhongtian has lost his Dragon Dao Power, at least he survived. There is still hope for him to rise again in the future. As for Lin Xuan, being a Dragon Warrior, his strength will surely soar after obtaining this power. At this thought, the Sovereign grew excited again.
Lin Xuan looked at the struggling Serpent phantom in his hand, a smile curling his lips. He had finally obtained Chu Zhongtian’s Dragon Dao Power. With this power, he could acquire the Heart of the Serpent. And with the Heart of the Serpent, his physique would become even stronger.
Excellent. Everything was going smoothly.
Lin Xuan laughed heartily. He sealed away the Dragon Dao Power, and the Dragon Scales on his body receded. His form gradually shrank, returning to that of a normal person.
The battle was finally over.
The Heavenly Dao Academy Master waved, allowing the Star Pavilion Master to retrieve Chu Zhongtian. At the same time, he announced the closing of the sky battlefield.
RUMBLE...
The battlefield in the sky flew back toward the Heavenly Dao Academy, and Chu Zhongtian was carried away. Lin Xuan descended from the sky, landing inside the Academy grounds where the crowd immediately surrounded him, still cheering wildly.
The Heavenly Dao Academy Master then looked to the Sovereign, and together they extended an invitation to the Holy Land Messenger. The Holy Land Messenger gave a slight nod and entered the Heavenly Dao Academy. It was clear that he was about to announce his choices for the Holy Land. The Celestial King and the Pill King were also invited inside.
The others were not permitted to enter, but none of them left. They all gathered outside the Heavenly Dao Academy, eagerly awaiting the final result. They wanted to personally witness Lin Xuan’s ascension to the Holy Land. In their eyes, the outcome was certain. As the ultimate victor and a Dragon Warrior, a peerless genius like Lin Xuan was guaranteed a place.
While they waited, the news spread like a hurricane across the entire Great Xia Country. Although many had come to watch the battle, the number of martial artists in the country was far greater, and not everyone had been able to attend. But they had all been paying close attention, waiting for news of the duel between the two dragons.
Finally, the news arrived. Across Great Xia, martial artists grew animated.
"I wonder who won?"
One martial artist rolled his eyes. "Do you even need to ask? What’s there to be curious about? Of course Chu Zhongtian won."
"Indeed."
"Chu Zhongtian is a true Grandmaster, while Lin Xuan is just a three-star Grandmaster."
"The gap between them is an insurmountable chasm. How could Lin Xuan possibly win?"
"I wouldn’t be so sure. Lin Xuan has created countless miracles. Maybe he pulled off another one this time," someone countered.
However, most of the martial artists sneered, "No matter how strong he is, he can’t overcome a gap of eight realms to defeat a Grandmaster."
"That’s right. No one can do that. Not even Lin Xuan."
The crowd buzzed with discussion, nearly all of them convinced that it was impossible for Lin Xuan to have won.
Just then, someone spoke up. "But I heard that in the end, Lin Xuan was the one who won. He supposedly defeated Chu Zhongtian."
"Who’s spreading such nonsense?"
"You’re full of it. Lin Xuan won? What a joke."
"If Lin Xuan managed to win, I’ll eat every table in this tavern!" a martial artist in a tavern declared with disdain, and the others voiced their agreement.
"How could Lin Xuan possibly win?"
"I can’t imagine any scenario where Lin Xuan could defeat a Grandmaster."
"Unless... unless he’s a genuine Dragon Warrior. That’s the only way he could have defeated a Grandmaster. Otherwise, it’s impossible."
"Well, you hit the nail on the head," a young martial artist said excitedly. "According to the news that just came in, Lin Xuan really *is* a Dragon Warrior."
For a moment there was silence, and then the entire tavern erupted in laughter.
"You’ve got some nerve, kid. Lin Xuan a Dragon Warrior? Don’t make me laugh."
"Do you have any idea what being a Dragon Warrior even means?"
"There hasn’t been a Dragon Warrior in over a thousand years!"
"How could Lin Xuan possibly be a Dragon Warrior?"
"Yeah! If he’s a Dragon Warrior, I’ll eat this whole tavern!"
