Chapter 432: Ch
Chapter 432: Ch
"This is a formal occasion. Even though the Duke is your father, you still have to maintain proper courtesy during this event. For now, both you and him belong to two different factions, and you need to be mindful of that."
Vivian’s excitement visibly dimmed, and she pouted slightly in grievance.
"Oh, come on, Amber... can’t we do this? Just once? It’s not even that big of a deal..."
Amber forcefully palmed her forehead, looking at Vivian acting cute like this, but she still firmly shook her head.
"No means no, Vivian. You know it, and I know it. This is simply not something that can be done right now."
"Aww, come on." Vivian pouted and stomped her feet lightly before immediately sitting back down again.
Letting out a sigh, she finally said, "Well, I’ll listen to you for now. But at least let me talk with him normally? That wouldn’t be a problem, would it?"
Amber sighed in relief upon hearing this, even as she struggled to control the urge to punch Vivian for acting cute even at a moment like this.
Still, she suppressed that urge and replied with a faint smile that did not really look like a smile at all. "Yes, that you can do. But remember."
Before Amber could finish, Vivian immediately interrupted her. "To maintain my dignity, or rather the dignity of my position, right? I get it, okay, okay?"
"Great! Then send a communication request to my father’s fleet!" Vivian excitedly perked up and announced.
A black line immediately formed on Amber’s forehead as she asked, "Vivian, what about the Elf Empress? You can’t just ignore her, can you?"
"Who said I’m ignoring her?" Vivian replied easily while waving her hand dismissively, treating the matter as if it were nothing important. "I have you for that, don’t I?"
While saying this, a sly grin even formed on her face. "While I chat... cough... guide the Arch Duke of Elphenim, you can do the same for the Elf Empress, Vivian. No big difference, right? Hmm?"
That grin naturally did not escape Amber’s eyes, and as a result, the corners of her mouth began twitching furiously. She pointed at Vivian with a shaking finger and said, "You...!"
But no other words came out of her mouth.
"Okay, enough. This is settled now!" Vivian, not about to give her good friend any time to recover, immediately clapped her hands together and said, "It’s up to you now!"
Then she quickly disappeared from the command bridge, practically rushing out of the room, leaving Amber and the others stunned there for a moment.
Before long, Amber’s shoulders slumped slightly as she stared helplessly at the ceiling, completely clueless about what she was even supposed to do with this leader of hers sometimes.
Meanwhile, both Empress Valoria and the others back within their own fleets and flagships looked toward the place they had exited from and could not help but be stunned by what they saw.
Thousands upon thousands of powerful ships filled the surrounding space, each one giving them a sinking feeling deep within their hearts. Along with that, there were multiple hidden presences their divine senses completely failed to detect, yet their inner danger instincts continuously warned them that even more dreadful things were concealed nearby, things far beyond what they could currently perceive.
This was not the first time such a thing had happened. In fact, it had already occurred multiple times since their arrival. But what truly filled them with awe and fear was the realization that a power like the Void Fleet, now known as the Celestial Void Empire, an empire with seemingly no history within the galaxy, possessed such terrifying depth and such an unbelievable level of development and creation.
It inevitably made them curious out of necessity.
Just where did this Void come from?
Was it truly from the Holy Region, now called the Sol Region? Or was it really because of some inheritance?
No... if they truly had to choose between those two possibilities, neither of them believed either answer was correct. Even those ancient powers that had once existed in this region in the distant past did not possess such advanced development or capabilities. If they truly had such power back then, they would not have vanished in war the way they once did.
There was definitely something suspicious about the Celestial Void Empire.
But what exactly it was, they simply could not figure out, and that only deepened the mystery surrounding the Void Fleet in their hearts, a mystery they now longed to uncover more than anything else.
While thinking the same thing in their minds, the two beings standing at the 6th Stage of the Genesis Law Comprehension Realm continued expanding their divine senses as far as possible.
And even though they were unable to penetrate past the outer structures of the ships that fell within the range of their divine senses, it only made their expressions grow more serious, adding even more mystery to the Celestial Void Fleet.
But unwilling to give up and still wanting to dig deeper, they continued extending their divine senses further and further until they were almost reaching their tipping point. That was when both of them suddenly discovered something enormous hidden within the shadows of a nearby gas giant.
It was a moon-sized construct made from unknown alloys, alloys that were definitely superior to the materials used in building their own ships. The structure itself was nearly 1,500 kilometers in diameter and remained concealed beneath the dark shadow cast by the gas giant.
The moment their senses brushed against it, a primal fear surged through both of them, causing every instinct in their bodies to scream in warning.
Before they could instinctively pull back their senses, however, they were forcibly pushed away by a terrifying force far beyond their level. At the same time, a voice rang directly within their minds. "Curiosity kills the cat, both of you. Please mind where you are and do not cross the limits of a guest."
Hearing this voice, both the Empress’s and the Arch Duke’s faces instantly turned pale. They immediately withdrew their senses and began huffing heavily as though they had just escaped death itself.
"W-What was that...?!"
Both of them spoke at the same time while quickly assuring their subordinates, who had rushed toward them after noticing their strange reactions and pale faces.
At the same time, however, neither of them could suppress the dread building within their hearts.
Just who was that person? And more importantly... how could he possibly be that much stronger than them? Was he at the peak of the Genesis Comprehension Realm?
No... that alone should not explain such an overwhelming gap between them, a gap so massive that they had felt no different from ants before that presence.
C-Could he actually be in the Genesis Integration Realm...? The moment that thought surfaced in their minds, both Valoria and the Arch Duke were filled with astonishment and even greater skepticism toward the Celestial Void Empire.
Before they could contemplate further, their subordinates spoke almost at the same time.
"Empress.""Arch Duke."
"We have received communication requests from the nearby fleet. Shall we connect them?"
Hearing this, both the Empress and the Duke frowned slightly, but ultimately sighed before nodding their heads. "Connect them."
The subordinates immediately complied, and holographic screens appeared before both the Duke and the Empress at the same time.
Within the screens, two different figures could be seen, both of them elves. However, the reactions of the Empress and the Duke upon seeing those figures were completely different.
The Empress was somewhat taken aback by seeing another elf, but that was all.
The Duke, however, was the complete opposite. The moment he saw the green-haired girl with the grin on her face and the same innocence he had always remembered, only now mixed with an added aura of maturity and authority that she had never possessed before, or at least not so clearly, his entire expression changed.
Seeing his daughter’s smiling face, the Duke could not help but smile as well. Yet a few drops of tears still fell from his eyes, tears he did not bother hiding as he wiped them away before speaking in a slightly choked voice.
"Hey, daughter... how are you...?"
After months of separation, father and daughter were finally reunited once again. Only the two of them truly knew what each had gone through during those difficult times of struggle...
Vivian had fought desperately for her life while escaping countless dangers, relying heavily on her mastery over fate to survive. Meanwhile, the Arch Duke had faced struggles of his own, forced to manage his state while it was being targeted by numerous factions and hidden powers, all while desperately searching for her and constantly worrying about her safety.
The two talked with each other for a long time as their fleets traveled continuously from the outer zone toward the core zone without stopping.
