Chapter 884 What a good luck
Chapter 884 What a good luck
Yun walked slowly, each step showing hesitation and confusion. He circled the space, even navigating the stairs with ease. Everything felt so real, as if he weren't in a fantasy world, but truly existed in this place.
However, this was in stark contrast to his previous experience. He clearly remembered being attacked, his body completely drained of strength, and even feeling the fatal blow. Yet now, he was unharmed, and not only that, he could move freely—it was truly bizarre.
Yun couldn't help but wonder: where had those five powerful bosses gone? And where was Lishwim? They couldn't have just vanished into thin air. All of this left him utterly bewildered, and he desperately wanted to know what had happened.
"Is anyone there? Is anyone there? Can anyone hear me? Someone come here!" Yun shouted in the empty hall, hoping for a response. However, apart from his own echo reverberating in the hall, there was no other sound.
Yun's mood grew increasingly heavy, and the place became more and more eerie and terrifying. He felt as if he were imprisoned in an endless maze, unable to escape or find a way out. This feeling of being trapped and helpless made him feel extremely bad.
"Damn it, what on earth is going on?" Yun pounded on the wall anxiously, his mind filled with doubt and unease. He looked around, hoping to find someone to tell him what had happened.
"Lishwim? Sargeras? Flor? The Firstborn? Can any of you come out here?" Cloud's voice echoed in the empty space, but received no response.
Yun felt increasingly helpless, and he couldn't help but mutter to himself, "What should I do? Can anyone show me the way?" Just when he was about to despair, a sudden voice rang out: "What do you want to know?"
Yun whirled around as if electrocuted, his eyes wide as he looked around, trying to find the source of the sound. However, there was no one in front of him, only silence and darkness.
"What's going on?" Yun muttered to himself. "I clearly heard the sounds, but why can't I see anyone?" His heart began to race, and a nameless fear welled up inside him.
"Who are you?" Yun took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down, and asked the air. His voice trembled slightly in the darkness.
After a while, the voice rang out again: "Who I am is not important, what matters is what you want to know."
Yun composed himself, thinking that since the voice was willing to communicate with him, perhaps he could get some useful information from it. So, he mustered his courage and said, "I want to know who you are? Where am I now?"
"Me? My name is... my name is... oh dear, it's been so long, I've forgotten." There was a deep sense of helplessness in his voice, as if time had left too many marks on him, to the point that even his own name had been buried in the dust of time.
Yun sighed inwardly, a sense of annoyance rising in his heart. Another one who'd lived too long, even forgetting his own name—this was no good omen. Usually, people who could survive this long were not easy to deal with. And judging from the current situation, it seemed he was about to be drawn into an event that could erupt at any moment.
Yun was all too familiar with this routine; it always happened the same way, and he would inexplicably get dragged into trouble. He shook his head helplessly, thinking, "Oh well, it's not the first time I've encountered this situation. Let it be."
"Hey, no rush, just say what you want to say." Yun took a deep breath, trying to make her tone sound calm.
However, the person opposite seemed interested in Yun's reaction, his voice tinged with curiosity: "Oh? Judging from your tone, you don't want to know? Or do you already know something?"
Yun smiled wryly to himself; this guy was really perceptive. However, he didn't want to get entangled with him any further, so he replied calmly, "Didn't you say you couldn't remember? So just say whatever you can remember."
Having said that, Yun's mind gradually calmed down. After all, he had fought against fate far too many times, each time feeling trapped in a meticulously designed game, and no matter how much he struggled, he would ultimately fall into fate's control. Over time, Yun gradually gave up resisting, feeling that letting nature take its course was perhaps the best choice.
"Why bother? Getting angry will only make you angry, so why force it?" Yun said silently to herself.
"It's been so long, so long since anyone's been here. I feel a little out of place." The voice, tinged with a hint of melancholy, sounded particularly clear in the silence.
Yun smiled slightly and replied in a calm and unhurried tone, "Yes, it's okay, it's okay, I have plenty of time to chat with you." His voice was gentle and calm, as if he was not affected by the sudden situation.
The voice was clearly surprised by the cloud's reaction. It paused slightly and then said, "You're so strange. You're in a strange place, and you're not only not surprised to hear a strange voice, but you even have time to chat. It seems you have a story to tell."
Yun smiled and didn't directly answer the question about the voice. Instead, she said calmly, "I don't know either. What I do know is that this isn't the first time I've seen something like this. Instead of blindly trying things out there, it's better to listen to the story. After all, you can't easily hear about so many things that happened before."
The voice paused for a moment, seemingly pondering Yun's words. After a while, it slowly said, "You're quite interesting. I thought my rambling would be annoying."
Yun waved his hand dismissively and said, "It doesn't matter. I'm pretty bored anyway, so listening to your story will help pass the time." With that, he sat down on the ground, looking completely at ease.
Yun knew perfectly well that all of this was fate's arrangement, and since he couldn't resist it, he might as well accept it. He decided to put aside his doubts and anxieties, calm down and listen to the story told by the voice. Perhaps in this process, he could find some answers about himself.
"I...where should I begin?" The voice hesitated slightly, as if considering where to start. "By the way, do you know where this is?"
Yun leaned against the wall, slowly closed her eyes, and replied calmly with a relaxed expression, "Of course I don't know. Just tell me, I'm listening."
The voice paused for a moment, then continued, "This is inside my body."
"Oh," Yun simply replied, showing no surprise or astonishment whatsoever.
"Aren't you surprised?" The voice was clearly surprised by Yun's calm reaction and couldn't help but ask.
Yun smiled slightly and replied, "It's not surprising, nothing is surprising. I've heard far too many unbelievable things, so no matter what you say, I don't think I'll be too surprised."
The voice sighed and said with emotion, "It seems you've indeed experienced a lot. However, what you can know at your age is still limited; the things in this universe far exceed your imagination."
Yun shook his head helplessly, sighing inwardly: Why do people always want to test their knowledge against him? Although many things happening here were beyond his imagination, he knew that his knowledge was far more extensive than anyone else's in this world. Of course, the non-human beings like the Firstborn were not included, so Yun was quite confident in his own abilities.
"Oh?" The voice clearly revealed a hint of surprise, seemingly quite taken aback by Yun's attitude, while also containing a touch of speechlessness. "You actually look down on me like that?"
Yun raised the corners of her mouth slightly, revealing a faint smile, and explained, "That's not the case. It's just that I know more than you can imagine. I've said this many times. Your understanding may not be wrong. It's just that I happen to be that special being."
The voice seemed very interested in Yun's words and pressed further, "Oh? So what exactly do you know?"
Yun's smile didn't fade. He replied unhurriedly, "I know a lot of things, but I don't know what aspects you're interested in. Why don't you just ask?" After saying that, he kept his eyes closed, appearing very relaxed and at ease, as if he didn't care about the other person's reaction at all.
"Do you know Mendisius?" The voice, seemingly from the depths of the underworld, suddenly rang in Yun's ears, sending a chill down his spine.
Yun thought to himself, "This guy is indeed not simple. He asked such a question right away. It seems that he knows a lot about that period of history. He must have been a big shot back then."
After a slight hesitation, Yun decided to answer truthfully: "Yes, I know. After the mother planet exploded, light and darkness engaged in a breathtaking battle. In that fierce battle, they jointly created a monster called Mendisius. This guy did indeed deal a huge blow to light at first, but as it continued to devour, its power grew stronger and stronger, and eventually it lost control."
Yun paused briefly to gather her thoughts before continuing, "That's all I know, after all, it was a very, very long time ago."
However, the voice seemed unsatisfied with Yun's answer and pressed on, "Oh? You even know about our home planet? That's quite unexpected. So, do you know what became of Mendisius?"
Yun's heart stirred; he realized that this question might conceal more secrets. He pondered for a moment, then replied, "As I said before, I know a lot, and I'm quite confident in that. As for Mendisius's whereabouts, I've only heard rumors. According to legend, because its power was so great, everyone was helpless against it, and in the end, they could only trap it in a desolate place, so that it could never escape."
"Hehe, do you have a way to get Mendisius out?" The voice continued to press on, as if testing Yun's bottom line.
Yun's heart suddenly raced, and he quickly waved his hand, saying, "I don't know. I don't have that kind of courage. If I release a creature that is afraid of both light and darkness, wouldn't that just be asking for trouble?" His voice carried a hint of fear, as if Mendisius were an extremely terrifying being.
Just then, Yun suddenly sat bolt upright as if electrocuted, a fine layer of sweat beading on his forehead. His heart was filled with doubt and fear. Who was this mysterious voice? Why was it so concerned about Mendisius? Wasn't Mendisius a demon that devoured everything? Logically, it shouldn't have any friends, yet this voice wanted to release Mendisius—what was its purpose?
Yun's mind raced through a variety of possible answers, but none of them reassured him. He stared intently at his surroundings, trying to find the source of the sound, but all he could see was darkness.
"You have quite the guts. You once delivered an entire planet to Mendisius and even managed to sever one of his tentacles." The voice suddenly laughed, the laughter echoing in the darkness, sending chills down one's spine.
A fine layer of sweat instantly appeared on Yun's forehead. His body became extremely stiff, as if bound by an invisible force. The scene from that time kept flashing through his mind: the portal he had opened unintentionally, and the mysterious figure behind it.
He thought to himself, "No one else should know about this except myself! Even Kalecgos couldn't possibly know that I opened the portal. But this voice... how could it know all of this so clearly?"
Yun's heart pounded faster and faster. He swallowed hard and asked in a slightly trembling voice, "You...you are...you are Mendisius?"
Before he could finish speaking, he felt a chill run down his spine, making him shiver involuntarily. He couldn't understand how he had inexplicably ended up inside Mendisius's stomach.
“You guessed it? But I’m also very curious. How could I have devoured so much stuff that you could be teleported here from inside? And I feel like the space inside is quite large,” Mendisius said.
Yun's mind was in turmoil. What on earth was going on? He had been very puzzled by this dimensional portal, and now he knew that he was inside Mendisius's stomach. No wonder the system was malfunctioning and all responses had stopped. This was Mendisius, after all, an existence that remained unsolved until now. He really had to take a good look at him. His luck was unbelievable.
