Chapter 114 The Lurking of the Shadow Remnants

Chapter 114 The Lurking of the Shadow Remnants

The night was as dark as ink, the stars hidden behind thick clouds, as if even the sky sensed the approaching gloom. On the ancient continent where the Star Academy resided, the atmosphere of peace and prosperity had not yet fully dissipated, but an undercurrent was quietly surging. In a corner of the continent, the remnants of the once-mighty shadowy forces, like ghosts of the night, lurked in the shadows, plotting a comeback.

In a forgotten, abandoned castle, flickering candlelight illuminated grim faces. These shadowy remnants clad themselves in black robes, their features hidden beneath the shadows of their hoods, revealing only eyes gleaming with a faint green light, as if able to peer into the depths of the human heart. They spoke in low voices, their voices soft yet brimming with determination and ruthlessness that should not be underestimated.

"Sir, should we start our plan early?" One of the Shadow Remnants lowered his voice, his eyes gleaming with urgency. In his hand, he clutched a token engraved with complex runes. This was the key to their connection with the Shadow Lord.

The black-robed man called "Master" slowly turned around. His voice was hoarse and low, as if it came from the abyss of hell: "No, the time has not come yet. We must wait, wait for the best opportunity. Yun Yi and those alliance members will not let their guard down. We must strike with one strike."

"But our strength is not as strong as before. If we continue to hide, I'm afraid..." Another shadow remnant showed a worried look on his face, obviously feeling uneasy about his current situation.

The black-robed man sneered, a cold glint in his eyes. "Power? Power can be reassembled. Although the Lord of Shadows has temporarily fallen silent, his power has not disappeared. As long as we find that legendary artifact, we can awaken the Lord of Shadows and return everything to darkness."

At the mention of the artifact, greed and fervor flashed in the eyes of the Shadow Remnants present. They knew full well that the artifact not only possessed devastating power but also held the key to the Shadow Lord's resurrection. However, the artifact's whereabouts remained shrouded in mystery, making it difficult to determine.

"Sir, how do we find that artifact?" A shadow remnant asked cautiously, fearing to anger the man in black robe.

The black-robed man was silent for a moment, as if contemplating something. Suddenly, he raised his head, his gaze piercing through the gaps in the dense forest, gazing at the distant, starlit sky. "The artifact is closely related to the power of the stars. We must start with the Star Academy. There, perhaps we'll find the clues we seek."

Meanwhile, deep within the Star Academy, Yun Yi and several alliance members were sitting around a conference table, discussing how to further strengthen the continent's defenses to prevent the return of the Shadow Force. Yun Yi's brows were furrowed, a sense of inexplicable unease surging within him.

"Yun Yi, you seem to be worried?" Kevin asked with concern. He knew Yun Yi's character very well. He would never be so worried unless something big happened.

Yun Yi sighed softly, his eyes sweeping over everyone present: "I have a feeling that the shadow forces have not completely disappeared. That force lurking in the dark is like a venomous snake, and it may launch a fatal attack on us at any time."

Arya's eyes flashed with worry when she heard this: "Yun Yi is right. We can't let our guard down. We have all witnessed the cunning and brutality of the shadow forces. They will never give up easily."

"So what should we do?" an alliance member asked anxiously, his voice revealing concern for the future.

Yun Yi pondered for a moment and spoke slowly, "Strengthening our defenses is inevitable, but more importantly, we must find the lurking remnants of the Shadow and eliminate them in the bud. Otherwise, if they find the artifact, the consequences will be disastrous."

"But the continent is so vast, how are we supposed to find those remnants of the shadows?" Another alliance member looked troubled, obviously finding this task difficult.

Yun Yi stood up, his gaze firmly fixed on the night sky outside the window. "No matter where they hide, they cannot escape the insight of the power of the stars. Kevin, you will lead a team and closely monitor any unusual movements on the continent. Arya, you will stay at the academy, strengthen its internal defenses, and research the connection between the power of the stars and the artifacts. As for me, I will personally delve into those dark corners and search for any traces of those remnants of the shadows."

"Yun Yi, you..." Arya looked at Yun Yi worriedly. She knew very well the danger of this mission.

Yun Yi shook his head slightly and interrupted Arya: "This is my responsibility and a challenge I must face. Don't worry, I will be careful."

As Yun Yi finished speaking, the conference room fell silent. Everyone knew that this battle was far from over; the real challenge had just begun. And as heroes protecting this continent, they must bravely stand up and face all the unknowns and dangers.

The night is still deep, and the stars are still shining. However, on this seemingly peaceful continent, a battle between light and darkness is quietly unfolding...
