Chapter 113 Ancient Escape Room
Chapter 113 Ancient Escape Room
The story takes place in a mysterious underground maze. Lily and her friends accidentally triggered an ancient mechanism and fell into this place full of puzzles and traps. It is dark and damp here, and the walls are full of ancient runes, revealing a mysterious and dangerous atmosphere.
"Welcome to my maze," a faint voice echoed in the air, seemingly coming from all directions. "You need to solve my puzzle to find a way out."
"That sounds like the plot of some old movie," Charlie muttered.
"Yeah, remember that escape room game?" Justin smiled.
"Okay, everyone be careful and look for clues first." Lily reminded everyone.
They began to search around in the maze and found that the runes on the wall seemed to form some kind of code. After careful observation, Mo Li found that each rune corresponded to an ancient poem. He smiled and said, "It seems that we need to decipher these poems to find the exit."
Just as they were concentrating on deciphering the runes, a man in a gorgeous robe suddenly appeared. He held an ancient scepter and had a sly smile on his face: "Hello, challengers of the maze. I am the guardian here. You can move forward only if you solve my puzzle."
"Another person who likes to set traps." Ivy pouted.
The man smiled and waved his staff. The air around him began to distort and a light gate appeared. He said, "Before you enter the next level, you must pass my test. The first question is very simple. There was an emperor in ancient times. His name was 'Guangming'. Which dynasty was he from?"
Lily frowned: "Emperor of Light? This is a bit difficult."
Mo Li pondered for a moment: "Guangming... Guangming... seems to be Emperor Guangwu of Liu Song during the Northern and Southern Dynasties."
The man smiled and nodded: "Correct, you can go to the next level."
They walked through the light gate and found themselves in a huge room with all kinds of chessboards on the floor. The man stood in the middle of the room and continued, "This challenge is a chess duel. If you beat me, you can move on."
"Chess duel? I'm good at that!" Charlie walked forward excitedly.
At the beginning of the game, Charlie and the man started a fierce game on the chessboard. The man was a skilled chess player and pressed forward step by step, while Charlie gradually gained the upper hand with his flexible tactics. In the end, Charlie defeated the man with a brilliant move.
The man sighed and said, "You are very good. You win this time. Keep going."
They continued through another light gate and came to a huge circular hall. In the center of the hall was a huge clock tower, which was engraved with runes and strange patterns.
"Looks like this is the last level," Lily said.
The man reappeared, the scepter in his hand flashing with light: "The final test is the mystery of time. You need to solve the puzzle before the bells in the clock tower ring, otherwise you will be trapped here forever."
Lily and her companions looked at the clock tower nervously and began to look for clues. The runes on the clock tower seemed to tell them the secret of time, but these runes were complicated and difficult to understand and required careful analysis.
Charlie suddenly had an idea: "These runes combined seem to be ancient astronomical knowledge. We need to unravel the positions of these constellations."
Ivy quickly found a piece of paper and a pen and began to draw a star map. They carefully compared the runes on the clock tower and gradually unraveled the secret. Finally, they found a hidden mechanism at the bottom of the clock tower.
Lily pressed the trigger, and the bells in the clock tower began to ring, and the entire hall began to shake violently. Suddenly, the ground cracked, and a beam of light rose from the ground, forming an exit to the outside world.
"We did it!" Justin shouted excitedly.
The man looked at them with a smile: "You are excellent. You have solved all the puzzles. Now, you can leave this maze."
Lily and her friends passed through the beam of light and returned to the ground. Looking at the long-lost sunshine, they all felt extremely relaxed and happy.
"This is truly an unforgettable adventure," Lily said with a smile.
Charlie nodded. "Yeah, but I still like running around outside. I don't want to go into any mazes anymore."
Ivy and Mo Li smiled at each other and patted Charlie on the shoulder tacitly: "Don't worry, we will be more careful next time and won't touch any ancient mechanism casually."
They continue to move forward, taking on new challenges and adventures. Each experience brings them closer together and strengthens their belief that no matter how many difficulties lie ahead, they will continue to meet them as always, using courage and wisdom to create their own legend.
